Exquisite hotel in the heart of San Francisco!

Pros: Friendliness of staff Amazing Valet Beautiful and clean hotel
Cons: Fees for EVERYTHING. Upscale hotel, but overpriced in some aspects
Location: Central location, close to piers with tons of activities and restaurants.
From the first view of this hotel I was pleased. We decided to do valet for the 3 days we were on vacation and the service was superb. Check in was fast and the staff was friendly. They gave me multiple options to upgrade. Being as it was our honeymoon, it was nice to hear options. I would have wished for some deals, or maybe throwing in something small for our upgrades. The service and friendliness of everyone was welcomed. We decided to have the fit wear for our travel, the only 3 complaints I have was that the fit wear took over 3 hours for them to bring to the room even though I ordered in advance. We did not use it since we could not wait for them to bring it. Also, 2nd thing I was concerned about was, we had the option of pillows (in advance) they were brought up after we checked in, BUT the attendant entered our room without knocking. I was changing clothes and was right in the eye of the doorway. He did not even apologize or turn away, he kept proceeding in event though I was not dressed. I felt violated and the remainder of my stay I worried about that happening again. The last item was the fact that being a high profiled and pricey hotel, I would have expected to be able to use the business center without charge. Even on vacation, work does not stop. I had to print something off so I went to the business center, to use the internet there is a charge BY THE MIN! and charge per page to print! That was a turnoff to the hotel.

Timeless Quality

My wife and I stayed at The Fairmont over this last weekend as an early Valentine gift for her. We left the kids behind and upon check in we we received complimentary upgrade to the tower 23rd floor with an outstanding veiw. We loved our stay at this historic luxery San Francisco hotel. The Tonga room was a little disappointing as we did not have reservations and most drinks seem bitter. Other than that if you ever get the opportunity to stay at this 110 year old american classic hotel you will be pampered throughout your stay.

Book Direct

Pros: location and classy environment
Cons: Book direct not with Expedia
Location: Restaurants, museums and the SF Symphony
The hotel was great but if you book direct, parking is free.

Very nice hotel, great view.

Pros: We were able to get an early check in.
Location: The trolley runs right past the hotel.
Beautiful lobby, great staff, excellent buffet breakfast.

Upscale Hotel in the heart of San Francisco

This historical hotel is very well maintained. Spacious rooms are equipped with all the modern features. Staff is very professional and polite. We have all the VIP upgrades promised by Expedia - room upgrade, free internet, late check-out. The best hotel I've stayed in San Francisco.

I highly recommend this historic hotel. Glamorous lobby, clean rooms, staff highly attentive. Location great and right off cable car route. I'll stay here again.

Noisy neighbors

Everything about my experience was great until I tried to sleep. This is an old building and the walls are thin. I had some intoxicated noisy neighbors that kept me awake from 2:30 until after 4am. I called the front desk and complained which resulted in a phone call to the room. When the noise did not subside, I tried calling the front desk again 3-4 times but no one ever picked up and I received a message that they were busy helping other customers (really? at 3:30am?). At checkout, the manager comped my incidentals and told me that their policy is to ask the guests to leave after 2 complaints. It's too bad no one wanted to receive my second complaint . . .

My husband and I loved our experience at the SF Fairmont! Spectacular views and beautiful hotel all around. We enjoyed high tea and also cocktails at the hotel as well.
