Grand Hotel at great location

Posted Jan 11, 2017
Pros: The location and the view.
Cons: No real spa, fitness is outsourced.
Location: Get some food at chinatown
If you can afford it you should stay at the Fairmont in SF. Intercontinental and Ritz Carlton are next door, but Fairmont has a better view.

Pleasant Stay At The San Francisco Fairmont

Posted Jan 1, 2017
Pros: Location, friendly staff, Christmas decorations, upgrades, room clean and in excellent condition.
Cons: We had to ask for a missing coffee cup and drinking glass, but they were provided quickly. Also the crowds in the lobby were a little uncomfortable.
Location: Nice location on top of Nob Hill. Grace Cathedral is close by. Cable cars run past the hotel. Union Square is within walking distance.
A very pleasant stay at the San Francisco Fairmont (Nob Hill). The staff was very friendly and helpful. On check-in we received a free room upgrade and free WiFi due to our Expedia+ Silver level. Our room was in very good condition and very clean. The Christmas decorations in the lobby were special and very cheerful. We enjoyed dinner at the Hotel and were given free wine and a free dessert in honor of our wedding anniversary. Also by shopping around on Expedia we were able to reserve the room at a considerable discount. All in all a wonderful experience.

Our Visit

Posted Dec 29, 2016
The hotel is too far away from the downtown area, we are used to walking around San Francisco. However, the worst part of our stay there was the fact that the hallway leading to the elevators always smelled like dog urine. We like dogs but that smell in the hallway every time we walked through is something we choose not to encounter when we visit the city. Staff was friendly. Thank you and have a great New Year! J.M.

Christmas Escape

Posted Dec 28, 2016
Pros: Location, food, and lobby Christmas decorations.
Cons: Don't knock or open guests doors unless it is for emergency.
I booked 2 nights to stay at Fairmont Hotel for Christmas Eve and Christmas. A couple hours after I checked in, a hotel staff knocked on my door and handed me a couple hangers. When I asked him what were they for, he couldn't even answer me in English. The next day 9:30am in the morning (Christmas Day), a room clean staff knocked on my door. I ignored her and she opened my room door to ask me if I needed room clean. I called the front desk to file complain, the receptionist not only didn't apologize, she even asked me if I put the "Don't Disturb" sign! I stayed in many 5 star hotels before, this is absolutely the top 3 worse experience for me.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent stay with us. I'm pleased to hear you found the lobby so beautiful and enjoyed the holiday decor. That being said, I apologize for the service issues you experienced. There is no excuse for the rudeness you received from the receptionist and for that I apologize. Thanks again for your feedback.

The Fairmont was spectacular! I went during the holidays and the gingerbread house is truly amazing. The people we're extremely friendly, absolutely no hiccups with anything during the stay! Amazing amazing amazing!

Beautiful hotel!

Posted Dec 19, 2016
My experience at the fairmont hotel was amazing! As soon as we walked in our lobby, I fell in love! We had the pleasure of checking in with Helen at the front desk, she was so helpful, so nice, and so welcoming. Our room was so cozy, clean and beautiful! I can't wait to come back to SF and stay here again!

Gorgeous haven walking distance to Union Square

Posted Dec 18, 2016
We stayed in two rooms for 3 nights. The lobby was a delightful meeting place thrumming with life. Hotel staff were all unfailingly helpful and lovely. The rooms looking over the city were very comfortable with good linen. The roof garden is a delightful sanctuary. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont

Nice hotel closes to everything.

Posted Dec 18, 2016
Pros: My room was bright, clean, and nice.
Cons: It would be nice if the hotel will put a shower cap or two in the washroom for their guesses/customers.
Location: You take the Cable Car to go to Fisherman Wharf, and Prier 39, or Golden Gate Bridge, Presdio of San Francisco, Golden Gate Park to sight see.
We enjoyed to stay at this hotel, because its at a good location. San Francisco has a very good Public Transportation System. It is only take few minutes to Chinatown. You can take Muni Metro buses to Fisherman Wharf, Prier 39, Golden Gate Bridge, Presido of San Francisco, Golden Gate Park, Richmond Distract, and Sunset Distract. You can also take trains to Oakland and other places everything is nearby within an hour or so. San Francisco is very beautiful place and I love to visit San Francisco whenever I get a chance.
