Iconic but...

No hot water - maintenance during peak bathing. Couldn't they wait until after 9am to begin???

It was nice staying at such a historic hotel. It's a good central location that we were able to use the trolleys to get were we wanted to go. Enjoyed our stay!

The ambience is incredible

My overall stay was excellent and I would stay again. The champaign reception in the evening is a great way to relax and experience the architecture. Parking is a nuisance (Or pay $75 for hotel valet), my room was a bit noisy, and the pillows were great, but the bed was not that comfortable.

We were asking for a transportation. The conceirge just said, if you want you can get a car from the airport. They do not help you at all. We asked for a reservation on one of their restaurant, again they said they cannot give us a table. I do not know what is wrong with them.

Riding on their past history

Rooms are excellent, but not kept clean. Housekeeping staff knock and immediately enter without waiting for an answer - you have no privacy. Breakfast buffet is disgusting for a hotel of this calibre - do just as well at a budget hotel with free breakfast. Restaurant staff do nothing to accommodate requests. Final bill included charges for in room items not taken from the mini bar, charges from other rooms.

Great hotel. Luxurious. Clean. Excellent staff always willing and available to help. Daniel in the Laurel Court restaurant is excellent and always upbeat. The location of the hotel is perfect. 10 out of 10.

BEAUTIFUL GRAND HOTEL

Walking into the Fairmont lobby is an amazing experience!! It is BEAUTIFUL!! One gets a sense of being transported back in time to the days of elegance. This is not a sleek modern hotel. It is a beautiful historic masterpiece which has been seemlessly updated. We have stayed at many hotels in San Fran & this was one of my favorites!!

Wifi is $15/day, not even a bottle of water! Hotel is beautiful though
