Surrounding area a bit "dicey". Would not recommend walking at night.

the room was nice but since the facility is undergoing some renovations, it was miserably noisy in our room. waking up to a jackhammer at 5am on a saturday is not enjoyable. the walls were super thin...heard our neighbors next door, people calling down on the street for a taxi (Tower 1, 7th floor) sirens, car alarms going off in the parking structure directly across the street and about 8-10 people running down the halls at 3am. wanted to enjoy this mini-vacay but unfortunatley the lack of sleep after a BUSY day was awful.

Spend the extra money elsewhere!Posted Oct 4, 2015
Not worth the price. The room had a faint nicotine smell and stuffy. The Tower 2 elevator was out one night. Not what I expected from Hilton.

Great locationPosted Oct 3, 2015
Room was very good; main issue was the impossible to operate water controls in the shower; for some reason we were given a room for someone in a wheelchair, which is fine, but the shower water mechanism required half an hour of fiddling around to get it to work. When you pay almost $500 per night this isn't good enough.

Hotel Under RenovationsPosted Sep 29, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff.
Cons: Rooms need upgrading, and windows need replacing so that people can sleep at night. Full out conversations can be heard from people on the street.
Location: Near Union Square. Ideal for shopping, but area seems sketchy and unsafe at times.
We stayed here two nights over the weekend following a conference. We were in a large room on the 12th floor. The hotel seems to be in a run down part of town near Union Square. At night while trying to sleep it was VERY noisy. You could hear firetrucks, drunk people on the street, etc. from outside, even though we were on the 12th floor?!? The room we were in was not yet renovated, even though we paid $250 US a night and expected it to be better. It had a musty smell, the carpets were old, the washroom very dated, and the pillows were not comfortable. Although the bed was clean, I would not return. The staff was pleasant and helpful, however for the price we paid I would have appreciated a better, quieter room.

Great location - an easy walk to Union SquarePosted Sep 28, 2015
The hotel was nice, probably more a 3 or 3.5 star than a 4 star hotel

I've had better...Posted Sep 28, 2015
Pros: Great location. Clean.
Cons: I realize that the building is old and that the space is what it is in terms of size. However, an electrical outlet In the bathroom would be helpful.
Location: Tons of shopping and restaurants within walking distance. Convenient rental car location across the street.
I booked my room on Expedia. We arrived before the room was ready, and were told to come back after 3:00. When we arrived later they did not have a room with two beds (irritating, because we tried to check in earlier). They asked if a king bed and roll away bed would work. Absolutely not. They ended up upgrading us to a renovated room. Kudos for doing the right thing. The room was clean, but very small - with a tiny bathroom. The window was also very small. The beds were comfortable and clean. However, we could not find an electrical outlet in the bathroom. This made getting ready in the AM difficult. Although the room was clean and the staff was nice, we felt very cramped. I recommend spending a little extra for the Grand Hyatt. If you're a Hilton loyalist, the Hilton in the financial district is more updated and spacious.

Very busy hotelPosted Sep 27, 2015
Location: Walking distance to just about whatever you want to do. We walked to the Orpheum to see Phantom, and it was less than a 10 minute walk.
The day we checked in, we stood in line over a 1/2 hour to get to the front desk! I guess tour busses had just dropped off about 100+ people and it was mayhem. The room and stay was nice, once we finally got checked in. At checkout, the parking attendant knew nothing about the fact that my stay package through expedia included free parking, and tried to charge us $60 more to leave. When I checked in I had asked the front desk to make sure that it was included and they had already told me it was. So this was extremely annoying, especially after paying over $400 to stay one night. The buffet on the 46th floor was really nice!
