Good location to main tourist areasPosted Nov 25, 2015
Pros: Quaint interior decor with movies theme. It has a screen room showing old and new Movies at night (mostly Hollywood's with scenes of SF).
Cons: Street noise maybe an issue to some people.
Location: Just a few minutes walk to the cable car. The shopping mall there has a food court and convenient stores. Close to Union Square
I like the location though it is at the edge of a rough neighbourhood. Thus, there are still some homeless people around that block. It is just a few minutes walk to Powell Steet Station, where shopping, cable car, restaurants are, and you can easily connect to SFO airport there as well as to other part of the City. The tourist info centre is there too. I would recommend to buy a public transportation pass as it includes the expensive cable car ride. - The room size is fine and quite cozy. - The breakfast is okay

Close to everythingPosted Nov 23, 2015
Pros: Cleanliness and helpfulness of the staff. Staff is very pleasant. Coffee and hot water for tea and hot cocoa is a nice touch.
Cons: You can't improve the noise issue, but you may offer earplugs at the begining if you know that people are staying in a loud room like 505:)
Location: We took the cable car to Fishermans's wharf area a couple of times. We went a few blocks and rented a car very near the hotel and drove to Napa.
I loved how close we were to the Bart, Cable car, trains, buses, union square, restaurants, and shopping. We could go anywhere, once we started figuring out the public transportation. We bought a 3 day visitor pass for unlimited rides. The room was very clean, and staff was very helpful with figuring out which mode of transportation to take. There are a lot of homeless people in this area, but they are everywhere even in front of some higher rated hotels that I had looked at. We just kept walking and avoided eye contact. For the price, cleanliness, and vicinity to everything. We would stay again. We were gone most of the time anyway. We just used the room to sleep and shower. It was a little loud the first night b/c of the trash dumpster trucks and police sirens, but the staff gave us earplugs. Slept well the rest of the time. Here are some tips for San Francisco: Don't stand in long lines for cable car outside the hotel, walk up a few blocks and catch it there (brown and white signs). They never fill it completely, you may have to stand, or hang on the outside. If you are confused on which side of the street to take the bus or train, ask the driver. They were all very nice. Take the earlybird Alcatraz tour, not a lot of people in your way when you are doing the audio tour. It lasts about 45 minutes and you can see everything well. A few blocks there are multiple rental car companies. Rent one that has a late drop off time so you don't have to worry about parking.

The staff is really nice and helpfull. They offer you a complimentary glass wine when you check in. The rooms are small but very clean driving and comfortable. The location is perfect. I definitely will stay there again.

Pleasant stayPosted Nov 8, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff, clean, quiet
Cons: Rooms could use a bit of reno, fresh coat of paint
Location: Amazing bar right across the street, numerous restaurants withing 10 minutes walking distance and union square
Hotel staff were very friendly. It is an older building, so expect a few oddities and creaks here and there, but the rooms were clean and quiet, bed was nice and there was always hot water for a shower. Would stay there again

Due to a convention I was not part of, I paid $450 for this room. The beds were okay but other than that it felt like a dirty dorm room.
