Great hotel

Posted Jan 30, 2016
It was really nice and the locAtion Is the best. Our room was a little noisy because it was on the side of a music hall or sth like that. The mattress was old, though. It definitely needed a change.

Very old building. Loud!

Posted Jan 19, 2016
Pros: The bed
Cons: The lighting and the floors in the main lobby. Also room service closes at 10:30 and I think that's too early
Location: Very close to everything. We took BART and it was within walking distance.
The hotel wasn't horrible by any means. It had very comfortable beds. It's old and feels old. You can hear everything going on outside and in the halls. The worst part is the rooms are very dark. You couldn't even see yourself in the mirror. My colleague said his room was the same.

Nice clean room

Posted Jan 13, 2016
Pros: Location and friendly and accommodating staff.
Cons: Better lighting in the rooms. Quieter air con. More insulation in the door.
Location: Lots to do. Union Square one block away. Public buses at all corners. Walking distance to millions of beautiful shops. Good food of all kinds.
Our room had a window which opened into an air shaft. It was small but very clean (except for under the desk). The lighting was dim. This gave the room a cave like atmosphere. The Nexpresso machine was great....a saving grace.

So disappointing

Posted Jan 5, 2016
Overall, my experience with this hotel was awful. The first night I arrived, the room was freezing. It felt like I'd entered the Arctic Circle. There is zero insulation. I felt like I was staying in a hostel the first night. The walls are so thin you can literally hear everything in the adjoining rooms and in the hallways. I complained because we spent quite a bit for our room and I had a better experience at a HoJo than this place! They moved us to a nicer room upstairs but then, housekeeping didn't even clean our room. They made our bed. Dirty washcloths and towels were left in the room two days in a row, even after I spoke to the front desk about the situation. I definitely would suggest going to the Westin or JW Marriott around the corner. Do not stay here.

Pretty nice.

Hotel was nice and located in the middle of everything. Street noise was a little loud, but I don't think there was much the staff could have done about it.

Its not counted 4start the furniture are bit old

Posted Dec 29, 2015
The staff are very helpful and polite. The bed clean and confortable. The room paint and floor doesnt look good old and serms as if its under renovation or something. The room view was bad. The location is great! Close to everything very vibrate and live area. But close to the poor area you need to be careful. Room service was good but no free water at the begining.

G ホテル

Posted Dec 3, 2015

Not our style

Posted Nov 27, 2015
Pros: Location - about as close to Union Square as you can get.
Cons: Finish the refinishing, refurbishment, etc. Also nice if the restaurants attached weren't closed.
Location: Enough said.
The hotel has an excellent location. It seems however to be a work in progress. Some areas aren't painted, others left bare. The room itself is eclectic - I suppose some kind of urban restoration. The furniture probably works for a single occupant - one chair. Probably the biggest issue is the dim lighting. Maybe 40 watts works for younger eyes. The sink is a large tub in the bedroom, not the bath. So it's unlikely we'll be back. Better for a younger, hipper crowd with lower expectations.
