Ongoing Renovations

Posted May 30, 2017
Pros: The attached parkade is incredibly convenient. I recommend everyone to pay for parking there, instead of using the valet. Way cheaper.
Cons: Make it more easily accessible for people with strollers or wheelchairs by installing a ramp.
This hotel's location was certainly quite central and safe, if you have a vehicle to explore San Francisco. The hotel itself is full of Japanese characteristics and features. The painting on the random doors of the hotel rooms are a little bit strange and gives off a slightly "haunted" vibe. Thankfully, our own door wasn't one of the painted ones. Our room was fully renovated, which I appreciated. The main annoyance of my stay was that the room keys demagnetized SO easily. We were on a road trip starting from California and stayed in 6 hotels and none of the other hotels had issues with their room key like Hotel Kabuki did. Both my husband and I constantly had to go to the Front Desk after discovering our room key didn't work again, and with a 1 year old in tow, this was very inconvenient. We had to reset our room key at least twice everyday. Another thing is that the hotel is going through major renovations currently, so if you are hoping to sleep in late, it's best to avoid this hotel for now. The noise starts as early as 7am or so from what I can remember. Additionally, this hotel is not easy for people in wheelchairs or strollers to utilize. Their front lobby has a machine for a wheelchair to go up and down, but no ramp. Their parkade has a separate elevator, but no ramp option as well.

Wonderful hotel

Posted May 28, 2017
Our stay in San Francisco was improved tremendously by a stay at Hotel Kabuki! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and a beautifully decorated room. The hotel is connected to the Japan mall. There were tons of wonderful restaurants, all within walking distance. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the San Francisco area.

Convenient hotel next to Japantown.

Hotel currently under renovation. Experienced some noise. Was moved to the quieter side which was much better. Hotel staff was pleasant and friendly. Room was a good size and clean.

Comfortable Stay

Posted May 19, 2017
Pros: Overall, a very nice place.
Cons: Let people know that the breakfast buffet is $20.00
Location: In the heart of Japantown. Uber everywhere.
Handy location, friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is being renovated so the usual noise and mess that goes with that process was evident, but kept to a minimum. Great (economical) restaurants very close and the neighborhood seemed safe, even late night.
