Hotel Disappointing

Posted Jan 29, 2016
Pros: It is a beautiful hotel, the décor was very nice. The staff was very pleasant and were genuinely sorry that they were not able to help me.
Cons: Everything!
Location: checked in late evening left the next morning so no time for checking out the area
The kitchen was under renovation so there was not any room service. Was not informed of this at time of booking. No vending machine to get bottled water had to go across the street to buy beverages for me and my children. Ordered Chinese food delivery for late dinner. The bathroom had no door, except for water closet door, so my children (teens) opted not to take a shower. The in room television was very small.

Super Hotel im Japan Town

Posted Jan 22, 2016
Haben dort 2 Nächte verbracht, nettes Hotel zum fairen Preis mitten im Japan Town, super asiatische Essensmöglichkeiten in Laufnähe. Ein Muss für Asialiebhaber.

All about superficial apoearance of the lobby. Far From being boutique quality. Expansion poorly integrated- long boring corridors~cold - and poorly laid out room-furnishings on edge of bad taste-shower area school gym quality with rusted hinges on door- I thought the Chpper was s master he missed the mark with this hotel

Nice hotel in quiet neighborhood, great restaurant

Posted Jan 14, 2016
Cons: Will be better when both elevators are working and the restaurant and lounge in the hotel are reopened.
Location: Eat out, shop, walk 20 minutes to downtown San Francisco.
The hotel is under renovation but they are doing their best to not disrupt guests. The reception and breakfast room staff were very friendly, room was very comfortable, and the internet worked well. The deep soaking tub and japanese shower were a very pleasant addition to the room. The neighborhood is surrounded by Japan Town which is full of Japanese, Korean, and other restaurants. The nearby mall is convenient.

Convenient theme hotel

Posted Jan 13, 2016
While it is true that one elevator is not working, there is a service elevator 5 seconds away that one can also use, thus we were not inconvenienced. There were no other signs of a renovation occurring. The lobby and room were very clean and appealing, and we had an amazing view from the 16th floor. Yes, there was some street noise, as can be expected in the middle of a big city but it didn't keep me awake. We booked a corner tower room and were pleased with the large kabuki panels that slid shut at night in lieu of curtains. The soaking tub was great. We did not have any trouble finding the refrigerator or mugs for the coffee maker, as did other guests. Garage access was excellent and cheap for SF ($23) although no in and out privileges unless you do valet parking for $45. The garage is well lit and extremely clean, and we felt comfortable keeping what we purchased in the trunk of the car overnight. Three things can be improved upon: there is no door to the washbasin and shower area, only to the toilet stall. Thus, in the middle of the night, the light from the bathroom pours out into the bedroom. The other is that no matter how many times we thought we had adjusted our room thermostat, the room remained at an overheated 72. Finally, we had some very loud foreigners in the room next door, and we thought the walls were too thin for this price point. However, we would definitely stay here again for easy access to Japantown.

San Francisco stay-over & tour for Irish guests

Posted Jan 4, 2016
Pros: Efficient staff. The hotel is proximate to Muni bus stops.
Cons: Availability of an on-site restaurant and bar.
Location: The Japan Center and its proximity to the Fillmore district offers a nice stroll. The Asian Art Museum is also walkable from Hotel Kabuki.
Hotel Kabuki offered a repose from our busy sight seeing itinerary. Our guests from Ireland found the hotel very comfortable ... a pleasant, relaxing ambiance.

Very nice hotel but needs restaurant and/or bar.

Posted Jan 3, 2016
Hotel is in center of Japantown and there is no restaurant or coffee shop nearby that is not Japanese. There is no place I found nearby to get a sandwich or a glass of wine. Or to sip coffee while reading a book, say. Hotel itself is quite nice. Very clean and comfortable.

Nice hotel, close to the Fillmore Concert Hall.

Posted Jan 3, 2016
We drove into San Francisco, the parking at the Kabuki was very convenient and fairly cheap ($20.00 a day). The hotel was very quiet and this was on New Year's Eve. The room was very pleasant and the bed comfortable. It had a very nice deep tub to relax in and a spacious shower. The staff was very nice.

Okay, great location

Posted Dec 31, 2015
As others have stated it needs a little updating that appears to be underway. Also here "king bed" does NOT mean California king so don't expect the BIG CA King. Rooms are very small - other than that was good value and a convenient location for us.
