A great base to explore San Francisco
Posted Oct 18, 2016
Being pretty much equidistant between the Pacific and the Bay, Japantown - where Kabuki is based - is ideal to explore from the furthest reaches of Golden Gate Park to the Ferry Plaza, while the big orange bridge and other northern coast delights are all within reach too. The west-east 38R bus is especially handy for getting you where you need to go.
The modernisation of the hotel continues, and it's especially noticeable in the gym, which is now huge with loads of equipment. The rooms are still to be done, but mine didn't really need much doing - just a bit of freshening up here and there.
All the staff I encountered were the height of friendliness, especially the lady on front desk who gave me two complimentary passes to the nearby Kabuki Springs spa. If you book directly, you get these included, but when booking through third parties like Expedia, you miss out unless you ask. Even then, I may have just got lucky.
