Hotel in an excellent location!!!

Posted Jul 10, 2017
Perfect location to base yourself for sightseeing. The hotel was cozy and clean. The room was well- appointed but slightly warm (there is no air con), but there is a fan. Breakfast was a nice inclusion. Would visit again.

Thank you so very much Alice for sharing your experience as you stayed with us in our lovely little Inn! We are happy to read the expanded continental breakfast we lay out each morning was a welcome addition and our rooms were to your liking, we only sorry to read of your discomfort due to the usually warm weather you encountered during your stay, we sincerely apologize. We think of the Inn as a hidden gem tucked just off Union Square so right in the thick of all our gorgeous City has to offer, so it simply delighted us to read our location allowed you to explore San Francisco with ease. Should you ever plan a return trip please do not hesitate to contact me directly if you require any assistance; I am happily at your service. Wishing you and yours the safest and happiest of travels... Warmly, Ann

Great Boutique Hotel in the city

Posted Jul 5, 2017
Pros: -The boutique atmosphere -Quietness -Quality bedding -Large rooms -Staff -Location
Cons: The cost of parking. However, this is always a bullet that has to be bitten in a large city.
Location: Using an über, we went all over San Francisco
There is nothing I can say but good things about this boutique hotel. The staff was superb and they went above and beyond accommodating any need we had. The hotel is old. However, it is beautifully renovated. There are four floors and each floor has their own lounge area. Fruit is available in the morning and cookies in the afternoon in these lounging areas. On the second floor, a contenintal breakfast is served in the morning and wine and appetizers are served in the evening. The hotel rooms are large and beautifully appointed. Our bed and pillows were like sleeping on a cloud. I would stay again at the Inn at Union Square and recommend it to anyone. Pros: -Walking distance to a variety of downtown restaurants, shops, parks, etc. -Quiet -High quality bedding -All staff -Valet -Wi-fi

Dearest Kathy, We are so grateful for the time you've taken to share such a detailed review regarding your recent stay in our lovely little Inn. You've certainly mentioned all of the little extras we think makes the Inn such a hidden gem. From our staff who goes above and beyond to the beautiful renovation of this 100 year old building, in addition to our parlors (or lounging areas) where we set out bowls of fresh fruit and games to the breakfast we provide every morning so you can head out to enjoy your day and the wine and hors de oeuvres we have each evening so you can relax and unwind… these are the things which make the Inn so memorable, thank you for acknowledging this and more importantly for your recommendation! When you are ready to return please do not hesitate to each out to me directly if you require any assistance; I am happily at your service, Wishing you and yours the safest and happiest of travels… Warmly, Ann

Near Orpheum Golden Gate Theater & Union Square

Posted Jul 2, 2017
Pros: Location. Staff. Service. Cleanliness. Wifi
Cons: Air conditioning. Noise dampening. Soft-closing doors.
Location: Union Square shopping. Orpheum Golden Gate Theater was within walking distance.
Good location. Helpful staff. Adequate, but average continental breakfast. Evening wine and snacks - wine was free, snacks were very limited. Free cookies on each floor. Room had fan, but no air conditioning. #302 was above housekeeping, with noise that traveled to room. Hallways were quite narrow - doors closing and people walking and talking in hallways was loud. Needed earplugs for sleeping. Windows opened onto close alley and building. No view. Good, free wifi. Seemed pricey, but probably typical for the Union Square area.

Great location/Helpful and professional staff

Posted Jul 1, 2017
Pros: location/cleanliness/friendliness of the staff
You can't beat the location near Powell Street at Union Square. Convenient to bus routes and BART, and the cable cars if you're interested in riding one. The staff was very knowledgeable about getting around the city and very helpful. The room was small, but nicely decorated. Continental breakfast included each morning was a nice convenience.

Great Location for Union Square

Posted Jun 30, 2017
San Francisco was our last stop before returning home to Australia after six weeks. All previous hotels had been five star. So we were a little surprized at first with The Inn at Union Square, not what we were expecting. But it all good better at this quaint little hotel, great location, staff were terrific so helpful and the continental breakfast was excellent . Our room was suitable for a short stay and very important the Hotel was very clean. Only negative was as in all older hotels no air conditioning, so we had the ceiling fan going to cool the room down all the time.

Great Stay at a Small, Chic Hotel

Posted Jun 26, 2017
We were very pleased with our room - the bathroom was large and updated. The only down side was that the weather was unseasonably warm for San Francisco, and since there is no AC in the rooms, the ceiling fan was our only respite. The staff, especially Ann and Enoc, were very helpful in recommendations for navagating the city and what to see. The continental breakfast and warm cookies each evening was a very nice touch. We would absolutely stay at this Inn again.

Oh Dayna we too just love our Carerra marble bathrooms, a bit of luxury while you are away form home! Our breakfast allows our guests to head out and about and savor our gorgeous City without the wait of a restaurant... and who doesn't love to return in the evening to the smell of fresh baked cookies? We are only sorry to learn our usually hot weather (which the San Francisco is the high 70's) put a bit of a damper of your time spent in your room, learning your ceiling fan offered a bit of a respite is a relief. Thank you so very much Dayna for sharing your experience while you stay with us... Enoc and I were happy as clams to meet you and your husband and we are just delighted to read we were able to assist you in exploring and enjoying our gorgeous City by the Bay! Please know Dayne when you are ready to return we will be here with bells on to welcome you back! Warmly, Ann

Wonderful location, great spot

Super helpful staff and an amazing location. Literally steps from union square and transport. Daily breakfast is solid and there's little treats in the common areas throughout the day.

If you work in a lovely little Inn tucked right off Union Square (so steps away from the best shops, public transport, best cheap eats to Michelin starred restaurants, with guests who seems to be the nicest and most convivial) warmly welcoming travelers from all over the big, beautiful , world, to our lovely little Inn is just easy peasy - although when we hear we've made a positive impression such that our guests our willing willing to take a bit of their own time to relay this to fellow travelers, well it warms our little hearts. Thank you Anonymous for acknowledging that all of us who work at reception truly care about guests and that our lovely little Inn has tried to provide you with the little things (i.e.: breakfast and bowls of seasonal hand held fruit, fresh baked cookies etc,) which allow your stay in at the Inn at Union Square to be worthy of mention; it our our sincere hope you will will plan a return trip to us very soon, please know we will be here with bells on to welcome you back! The gentleman at the front desk in the morning and afternoon was amazing. He went out of his way to make our stay special. It was unfortunate that all the staff wasn't as helpful and attentive. Overall the stay was really nice, the rooms quiet and comfortable. Great location.
