Dated hotel, great Union Sqare location.

Posted Feb 21, 2017
Hotel badly needs updating. Tiny bathrooms, $59 overnight parking, noisy. Great access to cable cars, Union Square and Chinatown.

Classic early 20th Century Hotel

Posted Feb 17, 2017
Pros: Great location. Terrific bed.Friendly, professional staff.
Cons: Water pressure was minimal which I attribute to idiots who have been running California for the past 40 years.
Location: I was there for a conference, not sightseeing.
The staff was superb. The hotel is what I expected from an early 20th century establishment. The rooms aren't huge, in fact the bathroom was tight, but the bed was fantastic. Great location.

Alot for a little

Posted Feb 14, 2017
The location is really great, and the lobby is so beautiful. Maybe the rooms are just a pretty if you get a fancy one, but for a regular room it was like staying in a little box. That's not even that bad, but the bed was so hard and there were no amenities. No mini fridge, no coffee maker, BUT they did give you a yoga mat :/ if I hadnt prepaid I would have checked out after the first night.

Friendly people and nice service. I needed a small refrigerator because I was traveling with kids and needed to have cold milk and they had it up with in minutes.

Classic Old Hotel

Posted Feb 11, 2017
Pros: Beautiful interior and bellhop uniforms.
Cons: Better water pressure.
Location: Lots to do nearby and Sears Restaurant across the street.
Beautiful old hotel, very elegant interior. Historic queen rooms are quite small but comfortable and charming. No water pressure in shower, though.

I COULD NOT BREATHE IN THAT BEDROOM

Posted Feb 4, 2017
Pros: LOCATION
Cons: NEEDS A BAD REMODEL
Location: OBVIOUS.. RIGHT OFF UNION SQUARE
I WOULD NOT WALK BAREFOOT IN THAT BEDROOM, I AIR QUALITY IN THE ROOM WAS SO BAD, WE HAD DRY MOUTH AND WOKE WITH SINUS HEADACHES WHICH LASTED MOST OF THE DAY. AN INDICATOR OF MOLD PERHAPS?

While the hotel is beautiful with it's ornate lobby, I found the room to be very small. The bathroom was way too small and the queen size bed was one of the smallest I have ever seen. Location of the hotel is great and the staff very nice, just disappointed in the room.

Locals enjoying a night away.

Posted Jan 31, 2017
Old charm, great views from our room on the 14th floor. Many shops and restaurants close by since you don't want to move your car once it is parked in a local garage. Great walking. Two negatives were the elevators were extremely slow and there was street construction that started at 6:30 am.

Not attentive

Posted Jan 29, 2017
Room was dirty and not ready, had to call twice to get the room cleaned and get fresh towels. Elevators were not working, had to use the stairs on several occasions. My room key did not work after one day, which caused lots of inconveniences.
