A appreciated respite with a NASTY SURPRISE.

After my son was discharged from the hospital at UCSF, we decided to "treat" ourselves to a one night stay in a lovely hotel. We searched on Expedia and found what we thought was a reasonable rate at the Omni. While we expected a parking fee, we did not search the small print for the exact price. There was no self-park, only valet... and PARKING WAS A THIRD OF THE COST OF THE HOTEL ROOM! We were shocked. When I discussed this later at the desk with a clerk who was very pleasant...she said that she agreed but that business people who generally come to the hotel are willing to pay.
It seems bordering dishonest that a hotel would advertise with a "sale" price on Expedia and then bump up the price by so much in a separate charge. Also, Expedia states " No surprises! Here’s a breakdown of your price:" and this does not include the parking surcharge at a hotel with no self parking.
Well, I guess the old saying, "Let the buyer beware," is still very apropos.
