Fed up with the normal hotel box? Try this!Posted Oct 2, 2015
Pros: Quality of accommodation; size of rooms; free wifi and approach to guests
Cons: Better customer training for reception staff and senior management
Location: Try Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant - great wine plus cheese, bread and pate available in the Plaza so make your own picnic!
It was a pleasure to stay in somewhere with a character all of its own. The newly fitted rooms are fashionably designed, welcoming and spacious. The free wifi was a surprise and it works in the farthest corners of the building. For the business traveller, Club 2620 is a must. Spending too much time in hotels across many countries it never fails to amaze me how many forget that it's the people that make all the difference. In Pier 2620, the majority of staff proactively seeks to help you and make your stay a memorable one, no matter how busy the individual may be. If there is an achilles heel then it is a very small pocket of senior personnel who sadly let their colleagues and the hotel down with insufficient client care. The hotel serves breakfast but you are also only minutes walk from both the harbour and the F tram which runs into Market via Pier 39. For dinner go online and try GrubHub. The log is simple and you can pay most providers in cash. Veracio's pizza serves perfect ceasar salad! The hotel bar is open in the evenings and one Sunday per month there is a live jazz band - superb!

God location, Friendly and helpful staff.Posted Oct 1, 2015
Pros: Location. It was close to many things such as public transportation and places to have a good meal.
Cons: It would be nice if they offered some kind of breakfast that is included in the cost of the room. A swimming pool would have been nice.
Location: The location was good. It was close to many attractions that you could walk to.
My overall experience with this hotel was ok. There was nothing special about it that you do not get from other hotels. I do not know if I would stay there again or not.

Nice hotel, friendly staffPosted Sep 30, 2015
Pros: Great location for Fisherman Wharf activities, including ferry docks for sightseeing outings. Very friendly staff with a helpful concierge.
Cons: Can't really change this now, but I prefer hotel bathrooms where the sink is outside the room with the toilet and shower.
Location: Close to the bus routes and ferry docks. Not a long walk to Ghirardelli Square. Good restaurants nearby.
Somewhat of an upscale hotel. Very clean and offered good service. It wasn't my style of decor, it was "urban-chic". I prefer a homier more traditional style. The room was clean, if a little small. Metal accents and furniture, again, not my style. The beds were very comfortable with attractive, clean linens.

Great Hotel, Great locationPosted Sep 29, 2015
Pros: Everything, nothing I didn't like, but I confess I did not eat at the hotel so I can't comment on that issue
Cons: Hummm, nothing I can think of
Location: The location was great, just a quick three block walk to Fisherman's Warf.
After studying many hotels on many web sites I selected Pier 2620 Hotel for our stay while in San Francisco. I couldn't have been more pleased. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The hotel had just finished a complete remodel and everything was just wonderful. The beds were very comfortable with new mattresses. The over all look was what I'd call industrial sheik. It's nice to see something different from the typical boring hotel décor. The front desk, room attendants, concierge were terrific. They all were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and very pleasant to deal with. We had signed up for a overnight tour during the middle of our week stay. The hotel lets us check out for a night, hold our luggage, and check back in, saving us the cost of a nights stay. I would highly recommend this hotel for these reasons as well as its close proximity to Fisherman's Warf.

Great LocationPosted Sep 29, 2015
Pros: Location and décor. I also liked the security of getting to the rooms having to have your room key to get on the elevator.
Cons: Price on rooms could be a more affordable and Later bar hours Lighting around the building would be helpful its kind of dark in areas
Location: Location was in walking distance shops and dining as well as tourist location.
Hotel was nice. Rooms looked awesome. Location was awesome. Only thing was that I called to ask if they still had construction going on and was told no and when we arrived construction was still taking place.

Trauma induced weekend!Posted Sep 28, 2015
Pros: Location only
Cons: The Manager could have been more understanding as to the possible gravity of this situation and offered more immediate compensation.
Location: A short walk to Fisherman's Wharf.
Upon arrival, the Front Desk Clerk was "busy doing other things" and apologized that he did not assist us. Finally, after preparing keys, etc. for other guests who were not present, he did check us in. He seemed totally distant and not interested in assisting our overall questions, etc. The room was in good condition. I the late afternoon on Friday, we heard loud construction sounds coming from adjacent rooms. I mean VERY loud sounds......hammers....saws.....etc. Also loud talking among the workers. Since we were in the mood to get out and about....we did not let this bother us in the least. The next morning, both myself and a family member awoke to the acrid odor of GLUE.....and to the construction sounds once again. This was mid-morning on Saturday as we were adjusting to jet lag and the time change of the West Coast. The smell of glue made both of us DIZZY with HEADACHES! Upon getting out of bed I felt kind of woozy from the smell. I phoned the front desk to report this hazard and was asked if I wanted another room! I said that this was not an option but a health necessity. We went downstairs and asked to speak to the Manager who minimized this entire experience. She did say she would not charge us for the overnight but could not direct any payment until Expedia was contacted since it was booked through them. She had "no idea" as to when a refund would be given to me. We received a cart to move our belongings to another room which was acceptable. Not returning here!

Great hotel close to Fisherman's Wharf.Posted Sep 27, 2015
Whilst it was recently puchased the refurbishments are well underway and what a great job they are doing. The decor is fantastic and once fully completed will be a great place for all to use. Front counter staff could be better on customer service but overall it was a great hotel.
