Photographed as the backwash wave hits an incoming wave. I've never seen one this perfect, and I was lucky enough to capture it. Equipment used: Canon 5D mark II, Canon L 300mm f2.8, IS USM II. #Wave #ocean #surf #beach #waterlust Mavericks. This wave is huge, the surfer in the foreground is dwarfed. #waterlust Mavericks, where else can you see vertical faced 50ft waves? #waterlust My local beach. Another shot from Mavericks, this time from the 2010 surf contest. Look closely at the bottom left to see the surfer outrunning the wave. This was taken from the shore with a 600mm lens. These guys are insane athletes and can endure massive beatings if they fall. #waterlust Rainbows, waves and stormy skies. #beach #wave #storm #rainbow #ocean #waterlust Surf culture in my town. A friends front yard is decorated with his old surf boards. I must admit, I do get a kick out of saying that my town has a lighthouse. I love Montara. #Lovemytown Another favourite spot of mine in our coastal town. #Lovemytown Another beautiful sunset on my backyard beach. Stopped along the side of the road to find this beautiful spot. My favorite local beach. #beach #ocean #nolitter Storm wave. #wave #ocean #storm #waterlust Point Montara Lighthouse was established in February 1875. After the big storms a crazy swell hits our coast, big waves attract surfers and photographers alike. #surfing #surfer #beach #waves #ocean My favorite beach. Grinding a hammer face at the Forgeworks with blacksmith Tim Cisneros. Beautiful rainbow over the ocean this morning. A nice quiet beach by Point Montara Lighthouse. Big wave legend Jeff Clark's old truck rotting away in an abandoned lot in Half Moon Bay. Cool table art at the local cafe. Big waves, cool car. Goats chewing down on local apples. Day of the dead display, Halloween in Montara. Eclectic always, you never know what you might see next in our town. Came across this cool vintage Studebaker commander at the end of my street. #Lovemytown Love this harbour, plus it's only minutes from my house. #harbour #coastside Moss beach is a hidden gem in the San Francisco Bay Area. It's 30 minutes drive from the hustles and bustles either from The City or from the Silicon Valley. On the northern end of it there is the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve where you can see lots of sea creatures like star fishes etc in the tide pool. The beach is unspoiled, unhurried, protected from the wind on 3 sides. Very cozy and comfortable. On the southern end of it is a nice restaurant called Moss Beach Distillery to catch a drink and fresh sea catch, and the last rays of the sunset. It just feels a world apart from the busy life of the Bay Area. NO EDITING: cold and cloudy day at Mavericks. #JayMoriarty got famous here.... #California May 2017. Tall ship at pillar point harbour. Please keep our beautiful beaches litter free. Coastline. Mavericks not breaking today. Another beautiful sunset! Found this in the garden today. In death there is sometimes beauty. Yuk, hot spicy crickets? No thanks. The sometimes savage Montara break claims another surfboard, this particular surfer vented his distain at the nearest object. A rare sighting of the white goofy coastal rabbit. Unexpected visitor to our Montara block party. Another view of the harbour. #harbour You can't sleep inside the actual lighthouse, but the bunkhouse around it are available. You can walk to the Fitzgerald marine reserve from the hostel, too! Loved our short stay here. #beachbound #lifeatexpedia #gnomads #beach Love to stop here and listen to the ocean! This beach is a popular location for exploring tide pools and surf fishing. The beach is bounded by low hills both to the north and south. #roadtrip #beach #ocean #hiking #nature #waves #surf Fun mirror in Here comes the sun coffee shop. Fresh organic produce at our local farmers market. Nice little pier to walk on. Lots of seafood spots and just a little south of here on hwy 1 there were tons of surfers. Capitán!! Martinis after not seeing each other for two weeks. Sunset. Great place to stop and have a bite or just sit and enjoy some drinks! Our favorite Coastside diner. Uncle Sam, Halloween in Montara Just watching the sun go down with a brew. This place is actually pretty lame but the large crowds, and naval base in the hills make for an interesting silhouette. Pictures of local fishing boats on the wall of our favorite Coastside diner. #beachbound Just loved the beaches here so unique! A living scarecrow, Halloween in Montara Great food and great view! Great home baked bagels. Awesome place to visit and try their handcrafted spirits. Fun tours and tastings!!! Half Moon Bay Distillery Nothing like a dumpster full of fish guts on a sweltering day at the coast. Just loved the late night stroll along the Lighthouse grounds. Actually this place is a hostel and I got to stay here! Beautiful late afternoon sun on Montara Beach.
The Peruvian restaurant overlooking the beach is a dope ass spot a sunset cocktail Our wonderful local hospital Seton Coastside. Jeff Clarks surf shop. The marine research center. My favorite beach, on my doorstep. Had the shrimp sandwich and the chowder. It was pretty good.
