Cheap and very spacious

The hotel room was not what it looked like in the pictures but at least it was clean and the room was bigger than I anticipated. The tv did not have cable though so we couldn't really find anything good to watch. The wifi was also a little slow so that was disappointing. How ever there was warm water and the room was clean so that's a plus. Overall it was enough for our one night stay in San Francisco.

They also let us know what we need to work on. I am sorry if the cable was not working in your room. We do have 46 channels of cable, including 4 channels of HBO. We have pictures posted of both our renovated rooms and our non-renovated rooms and sometimes the newer rooms get more focus. Renovation

Even with the renovation still going on, we loved our stay, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was gorgeous, we got upgraded to one of the newly remodeled rooms. We enjoyed our stay, and if ever go back to the San Francisco area, we will be staying again to see how the rest of the hotel turned out.

Average Hotel

Average hotel. Parking is very expensive. Risky neighbourhood. Lot of homeless and aggressive people around. Hotel is very safe with adequate security system. Close to few public transportation.

They also let us know what we need to work on. We do try to price our parking reasonably. Parking is an expensive commodity in San Francisco and car creak ins are the number one crime in the city. We try to price competitively with other hotels that offer on-site, secured and gated parking with 24 hour in and out access and personal gate controllers. Thank you for noting our security. Good hotel in the city.

Cons: Fix the hot water issue.
Right in the middle of San Francisco. Affordable and clean. Hot water was on and off, but overall I was pleased.

Definitely in the midst of action fisherman’s wharf not far bars restaurant not far bums and junkies not far but that’s just Sanfran seem to come with the territory in Sanfrancisco noteably dt in the tenderloin section,How do they do it like it doesn’t exist takes a special type of American to just walk by the junkies and bums and act like they don’t exist weird.

Los Lobos Show

Pros: Perfect location and it is clean in the Lobby and in the Room.
Cons: Can lower parking a little. Over $40.00 to park a car is a little steep! Hotel is under remodeling but not on the weekend. 1/3 price of the room.
Location: Tommy's Joint, Fillmore, Civic Auditorium. Short walk to Union Square, Short Bus or Cab ride to Fisherman's Wharf.
We love the location as it is across the street from Tommy's Joint where we like to eat and drink and just down Geary from the Fillmore where we went to go see Los Lobos! (Great Show)! As we entered the Hotel Lobby we were immediately greeted by the hotel staff and he upgraded us to a new remodeled room without us even asking which I found very nice. We stay here when ever in the city. Room Rates are reasonable. Parking is a little to high but you can park cheaper a block up the street or at the movie theatre. Our upgraded room on the 5th floor was very nice and comfortable and I had a view of Tommy's!

We do try to charge fair rates for our on-site, gated and secured parking with 24 hour in and out access and a personal remote control for the gate. I love the The Opal

I've stayed here multiple times because of its closeness to downtown. If you know San Francisco you know the neighborhood isnt the greatest, but the Hotel is wonderful, with friendly knowledgable staff, and walking distance to downtown and short drive or taxi ride to North Beach.

The staff is not helpful at all. Didn't explain much on the facilities such as wi-fi. No smile at all during my check-in.
