Hefty deposit for very clean room

Though this hotel freezes $300 on your credit card, you get a very cozy and clean room for a great price. Everything is updated, you’d forget you’re in some random hotel. Also close distance to downtown where lots of wonderful/fancy family-owned restaurants and a Starbucks can be found.

I showed up late, no issues from staff. They performed as if I was there during normal hours

I wasn't sure if the room was used before. There's dust on towels and tissues in bathroom and the room had only two table stand lights so it was dark. Breakfast was very limited.

Not pleased

2 lobby employees were extremely rude to me. I'd gone outside a moment and on my way back in 1 employee began shouting at me about the floors just being mopped, shortly after another employee joimed in at shouting, I was stunned, offered to clean it the first man cursed at me and told me to get out. Very upset.

Bed was comfy. Complaint is the 5 ft hgt shower head. Horrible.

clean and comfortable

Rooms are always very clean. Staff are not very welcoming but it's not what I'm there for. I've stayed twice now and both times been happy and got a good nights sleep.

Would have given 5 stars but...

Location: The proximity to downtown San Carlos and Redwood City is perfect. Also, highway 101 is about a 10 minute drive. Great location.
Overall I had a very nice stay here. The room was clean and had all the amenities I needed. The bed was comfortable and for a hotel right off El Camino it was surprisingly quiet. The hotel staff was also friendly. The only issue I ran into was that there was a hint of tobacco smoke in my room. I assumed a previous guest may have smoked inside the room. However, the next morning as I left my room I noticed a trash can/ash tray combo right outside of my door in the common area and it was full of cigarette buts. Not sure why the would allow smoking anywhere on the premises. If it weren't for this I would have given 5 stars.

Overnight stay to visit with friends in Belmont.

Pros: Close to Belmont.
Cons: Manager not available to answer questions about breakfast.
The room appeared to have been updated. Was clean and comfortable.
