I took the reservation, I just don't have a room

Posted Sep 20, 2017
Pros: Location, and only location.
Cons: Get competent staff and look into cultural sensitivity training for the front staff.
Location: Convenient for me for work. Nothing to do near by.
To book a room at this hotel, I needed to book a King Suite at almost $120 over a standard room. At check-in they first didn't have any rooms available (at 11:00 at night), then they "found my reservation and were pleased to offer me a standard room. When I pointed out that I had booked and paid for a King Suite they said they needed that room for another customer... in those words. They said I could take the standard room or find a different hotel if I wasn't happy. I had prepaid for the room! When I pointed out that I was a Platinum member of the Marriott Rewards Program they seemed to be a little concerned, but did nothing. When I asked for the manager, the person I was speaking with said, "I am the manager". He was kind enough to as he put it, "comp the parking", but i pointed out to him that there was not supposed to be any charges for parking at my status level. I also noticed that they were turning away other customers who had reservations. I must say, that the people they were turning away all appeared to be Asian with poor comprehension of English. Pathetic.

Was very disappointed, they charged

Posted Aug 30, 2017
Pros: Location is good close to our friends, and the place going we are going too.
I was greatly disappointed in the pricing, they charged us $24 per day which was more than the rental car company charged me per day for the car rental. Then charged $16 for internet, which is free in all the Marriot Hotels I have stayed in the past. There were a lot of mosquitos in the hotel and in our room, what's up with that? Though we travel to the Bay Area often our former home base, but will most likely not stay in this old Dumphy Hotel. Will probably continue to use Marriot in other areas, just not at this hotel. We were at this hotel for the two day wedding event. My biggest complain is the room was not clean. I had to wipe bathroom counter. It was pretty bad. There was not a complementary wifi internet which was so surprising.

Not Fit to be Considered a Marriott Property

Posted Jul 25, 2017
Pros: Lobby was nice; staff was friendly
Cons: Replace carpet in room
Room was located on the ground floor and had a mildew smell. Carpet was damp throughout and A/C was making a loud noise. Paid for Wifi but Internet would not allow connection.

Helpfull

Posted Jul 2, 2017 on Hotels
It was good!! Only complaint was the fold out couch wasnt easily pulled out, but a call to the front desk took care of that, really didn't want to force if open and be billed for the damage so I called it in and they sent help quick

Nice hotel

The staff was wonderful and overall experience was excellent. Only complaint was that my room was next to elevator and I could hear the elevator at night going up and down. Other than that I would highly recommend it

Not quite to Marriott standards

Posted Jun 20, 2017 on Hotels
Aspects of this hotel are up to Marriott standards—good beds, spacious well appointed rooms. I was surprised to see basic maintenance suffering—stained carpets, loose latches, warn furniture, signs that had been defaced to say "Poo" instead of "Pool," then left that way. Staff did good work but seemed unhappy. In general the property felt depressed. To be clear, the people were all really good to us and I appreciated their kindness; they just seemed unhappy. The location is near the airport in a business park next to a freeway.
