We loved our superior forest bungalow overlooking the cloud forest. It was super cozy and very quiet. We were visited by many hummingbirds on our little deck. The restaurant was top notch - very pretty and intimate and the food was amazing. It was a great place for bird watching at breakfast and lunch. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

What a wonderful eexoerience we had at Dantica Cloud Forest Lodge! It net all my exoectations. We came to the mountsins to see the Respendant Quetzal bird and our guide Carlos was the best. We saw a male and a female. The dining at Dantuca is exceptional. The dishes were original and very tasty. Service was terrific too. I would recommend it to anyone.

Lovely place
Lovely place with incredible views and very nice staff. The food is good, not great, but good enough! It's expensive so you expect more but overall, it's a nice place for a couple of nights.

Even with all the great reviews, this hotel exceeded our expectations. Amazing views from the rooms and everywhere else. Fantastic restaurant with glass walls looking into the surrounding trees and mountains. Totally recommended - try to arrive by daylight if possible- the final few kms would be challenging in the dark.

Amazing gem in the heart of the forest!
We had an amazing stay at Dantica. We weren't sure what to expect, but the property is amazing. So much wildlife, so many beautiful trails to explore. The room, more like a palace, had an amazing view and was so unique and comfortable. The staff were always smiling, and the food was fabulous. We would definitely come back. The only word of caution to others...this is a good solid 8,000 feet of elevation, so don't plan to do much your first day if you suffer from altitude issues. It took us a day to adjust, but after that, we were off and running.

A piece of bird watching paradise
This hotel and its rooms are absolutely gorgeous. Located on a vast property with trails to enjoy this piece of paradise in the mountains. The restaurant has delicious food. Only bummer is that breakfast is only for 2 hours from 7 to 9, which is a time when you will be our bird watching if you came to the area to do bird watching (which is what most people do here). So even so our breakfast was included we could not have it. Note that you will walk about half a kilometer to get to your room, which is when better for a mature immersion, but this will be complicated if you have a suitcase to carry. The trails is made of spades out flagstones so you cannot just drag your suitcase on its wheels you will have to carry it. But if you take that into account and are ready for it, you will have a guaranteed amazing time at this gorgeous hotel.

Special but not for all
A special experience but not for everyone. The cloud forest reserve involves hiking up and down steep slopes and the trail from reception/restaurant to most of the rooms is 200m with a lot of steps. Some glimpses of wildlife but not a huge amount. Restaurant excellent and good value, especially the local fish. Room heating by air conditioner a bit erratic.

The staff and general beauty of the place/location was excellent. The room was not very clean. The heating unit was inadequate for the space and chilliness of the location. Otherwise we had a lovely stay.

First thing to note is if you have a stand alone cabin you will be walking a long way to your cabin…through the woods, up and down hills on cobblestone. It was cold the night we were there and the heater in the room was insufficient. The breakfast was nice and the people were nice.

This lodge is in a wonderful location with excellent staff and dining. Extremely helpful and cognizant of our needs. When they found my wife had a struggle with the paths to the cabins they relocated us to make our stay easier without us asking. Overall great, they are on a mountainside so getting around can be a bit challenging. The restaurant was excellent and all the service was beyond reproach.

We stayed there for three days and loved every moment. Staff are prompt to answer your needs, friendly, and very accommodating. The restaurant was excellent. The chef didn’t fail to serve us the best they have in the kitchen. Highly recommended!

Incredible variety of birds. Very unique location. Far surpassed my expectations. The area is way more of a cloud forest than Monte Verde. The dinning experience was the best that I've ever encountered in Costa Rica! Looking forward to my next visit!

Rooms not adequately maintained, dirt and cobwebs, multiple insects inside, trails treacherous, very cold at night, must a unlock the door from the inside using a key which is a hazard if you nust evacuate quickly. The only positive was the service. Would not stay here again.

Dantica is a beautiful property in the cloud forest, with individual cabins arranged up the hillside. It was quite cold our first night, and the down comforter and heater were very welcome. Visitors need to be aware that the cabins are a long walk uphill from the parking and restaurant--perhaps 1/4 mile on a well-lit but circuitous path through the wood--plan on leaving luggage in your car and using a knapsack to take just what you need. The restaurant was particularly good, with local trout the specialty

Superbe Logde
Très bel hôtel aux environs de Quetzales. Nous avions le bungalow Quetzal avec une vue superbe sur la forêt. Le bungalow est top avec une décoration recherchée, une baignoire à jet… Vous pouvez vous promener dans le domaine pour essayer de voir le quetzal. Le personnel est très aimable, le petit déjeuner est très bien ainsi que le restaurant. Attention néanmoins, selon l’emplacement de votre bungalow vous pouvez avoir 500 m jusqu’au restaurant et 350m jusqu’au parking avec un peu de dénivelée, donc mieux vaut voyager léger!

Dantica and Le Tapir were excellent
It was great. Especially the restaurant Le Tapir. We got to see our first Quetzal. We'll definitely try to return someday

Absolutely phenomenal property. The walk to get to the bungalows is a bit rough. Definitely stay at least 2 nights, the area is really fantastic. The room was clean, and the privacy of each magical bungalow was so special. Will recommend and will revisit.

Dantica natural and romantic
Loved our second visit to Dantica. It’s charming, comfortable and unique. So many tropical birds. Artistically and locally decorated rooms, with fireplace and jacuzzi and amazing view to add to the ambiance Plus romantic setting and wonderful food and service in the restaurant. Highly recommend.

We are a couple I our mid seventies and in good health. The staff were very friendly and open to requests. The first cabin we are shown was #8. It was lovely, very clean and with a beautiful view. The down side was that it was a long way to and from the dining room, too far to roll or carry our luggage from the parking, even too far to the parking if we wanted to get something out of the car,and too far if we wanted to get some ice from the main building or fluid for the gas fire places on the walls, or e. A younger person may not be bothered by these inconveniences. We were lucky to be able to change cabins to #2 where there are 2 bedrooms. #2 is much closer to the main dining room and to the parking. Very convenient for our age. The beds are comfortable and although the rooms were very cold at night, despite heaters, but there were some excellent duvets. The problem was the hot water, which took forever to come into the main bathroom (I gave up). Allin all it was a nice stay with very good service and very good food.
