Very bad for the cost. Expected more.
The place was very badly kept. Expected more for the cost. The tv was a computer monitor of 20in with no working channels. The bathroom was dirty and noisy. The rooms were very smelly.

Very good for the price, excellent service
Hotel is a bit outdated but the hotel staff service quite makes you forget about that. I would recommend for a short stay like mine (2-4 days)

Found By Chance But Meant To Be
Put together a Peru trip on short notice to be with a hospitalized friend in Lima. Found this hotel basically by throwing darts at a board but more or less selected by proximity to hospital. This property in the San Isidro district delivered on everything we needed in lodging. Safe, inviting neighborhood with access to necessities within walking distance. Everyone from the owner on down the staff were inviting, friendly and courteous. My wife and I are seasoned travelers so are able to recognize value for dollar and Basadre Hotel met that criteria. San Isidro and Miraflores districts are going to reflect a bit higher room rates on travel websites but trust it is worth the difference for the safety and comfort. We very much enjoyed our stay and were glad we chose a smaller boutique hotel over the hustle and bustle of the big chain properties.

Very regular hotel.
Very regular hotel. The facilities are very old, the breakfast is not varied. not good. They Demanded the payment of 20 Soles more for washing a towel that had some makeup. Although the staff are very kind the hotel is no good.

Basadre Suites is a charming property with larger rooms (at least mine was) by South American size standards. Room and bed were comfortable. The room was a bit older but charming and met my needs at a good price. The breakfast buffet is included and tasty. I had dinner at the restaurant one night, and it was excellent and not too pricey. The hotel staff were really helpful and many spoke more than Spanish. I definitely would stay here again. You can walk to Miraflores and to some pyramids.

Nice, safe area, nice lobby, but very hard beds, flat pillows, a room smelled like mildew, and it was dangerous to get in/out of shower because of the fixed glass and extreme height of the tub (half way up my thigh, and I am 5'5" tall). Even my 6' tall husband complained of the height.

Nice find in Lima
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel had a lovely little garden and pool to enjoy. I also heard that the light breakfast was tasty however I missed it by sleeping in.

Outstanding location, nice staff.
Nice hotel, in a prime location in Lima. With easy access to gyms, churches, business centres in the area... by walking distance. Very gentle hotel staff. Loved the breakfast and the laundry service. I didn't like how restrictive they were on the phone service and the humidity in the rooms. I understand Lima is like that, but there's got to be de-humidifiers on every room to keep them dry.

Nice experience
No complaints, personnel tried hard, attentive and solicit, I asked about my pullout sofa included, they did not know what I was asking for, since they thought I should just expect a bed.

I have to give a low mark, at least the room I stayed it needs a lots of works, needs to do a better cleaning job, I was there for one night only, staff was very friendly, but room have a lot to be desire.

Run down, terrible wifi
I stayed for a couple of days for a business trip. The wifi left a lot to be desired, there are apparently five routers set up around the house but the only place to consistently get wifi was in the reception area. The staff were courteous but the hotel is run down and without wifi useless for working out of. Oh and they don't have a backup generator so when the San Isidro power grid went down--we were stuck in the dark in almost 90 degree heat with no ac and a tiny window.

The best thing is the pool and the free breakfast!
Unfortunately, I could not book another place (similarly priced) I stayed at twice before and this looked just as nice on the pictures. Not so in real life. This place was like a regular American motel compared to the other place that was airy and clean and nice. The room was pretty small and the bathroom was not the cleanest. You could not change from shower to faucet, because the knob was broken. A/C was very good and the garden is OK. The pool is fantastic and the breakfast with fresh fruits is very good. Wifi is only working in the lobby, but at least the seating area there is nice.

Nice friendly hotel
We stayed four nights while visiting Lima and found the hotel well situated for getting around and seeing the sites. The breakfast was plentiful and set us up for the day. We ate once at the hotel when we were too tired to go out to one of the plentiful restraunts close by, the food was good if not gourmets.So I'd be happy to recommend this hotel for a short stay in Lima.

Friendly, overall comfortable well located hotel.
Rooms are comfortable but the maintenance is not great, the decor is tired and old. The rooms in the garden smell of damp to the point that I had to request a change, and that was hard to organize. Drawers in closets are old and tacky, bathroom door had old paint and needed varnishing. I requested to be woken up in the morning and they forgot to calll. On the positive side staff were friendly, nice and helpful, and the rest of the hotel facilities is good: access to computers, wi-fi, breakfast was well organized and the location is quite central.

Thank you for your review! All thecarpeting form the rooms in the garden have been replaced with laminated flooring, so thedamp smell is gone. We take pride in our staff, and we have the best breakfast buffet in town. We are constantly training our staff, in order, to give the best possible service. We hope to see you again!

A decent hotel in a great area
We only stayed here one night. The place is in a really pretty area, although there isn't much to do in the immediate area since its mostly residential. The room was fine; it was a little dated, but got the job done. There were only about 10 rooms, so it was very quiet and the staff was friendly. We couldn't stay for breakfast since we needed to catch a flight, but the dining area looked nice.

Nearby, we have casinos, restaurants and a new shopping mall (Real Plaza Salaverry). Sorry you missed our fantastic buffet breakfast.....a good reason to visit us again.

It's ok
Basadre had friendly staff and a pretty entrance, but the rooms could definitely use an upgrade. Our room in general was fairly comfortable but definitely older, but the bathroom was super tight.The toilet was right next to the shower to the point you nearly needed to step over it to exit the shower. The place was quiet at night, though, with a nice supermarket within three blocks.

Thank you for your review. Our garden rooms have been re decorated and they all over look our swimming pool. Yes we have a single bath room with the caracteristics that you mention, the other 19 bathrooms are quite spacious. Now a days the neighborhood has grown so much, that we even have a shopping mall (Real Plaza Salaverry) close by.

Good short stay ~ 8 hours, as transit.
Overall good. It was very nice for the hotel to arrange sandwich breakfast as we had to leave before morning breakfast serving time. There were no superior rooms, for which we paid. We stayed in standard bedroom with Queen bed.

The Hotel in in a good place in San Isidro, but is a bad service, not food after 10 om, not soap, or shampoo in rooms. If you have to work early forget the breakfast, is after 7 am and you can´t take coffe or orange juice before 7 am.

We booked a room for 3 people and they were no prepared for that. They brought in a roll away bed which unfortunately was shaped like a banana. Your feet were higher than your head! Breakfast was nice. And the grounds were pretty. The room was showing wear with stained walls and doorways

great, beautiful place to stay
Lima is not the safest city, but this hotel was very well staffed and lovely. It is within walking distance of several restaurants and a market, and the staff were really accommodating and helpful. The back yard is gorgeous with its pool and landscaping, and the beds were very comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.

Very disappointing
Tolit seat did not fit the toilet, and was loose, very dangerous. Windows did not lock, 2 of them had bars so those were OK, but other one did not. Ended up using a nightstand drawer to block the window from opening. Door flip lock broken off, so only door lock was the push button in the knob, very, very poor security! Requested wake up call never came, (on the day we were leaving for the airport). Suites???? room had a table and two little chairs, guess that makes it a suite. Breakfast, no attendent, had only a home coffee maker and we had to go to the front desk to ask for someone to make coffee.

Not a place to stay
A couple of thinks turn me off so badly that I will never AT&T there again. Bathroom sick did not work properly, basically the water will take forever to go down so you could not use it much. I also found hair in the bathroom which wasn't mine. For the price you pay you can go to another hotel and avoid these issues!

Make sure you do not get room#108. It's off of a narrow dark corridor, the room itself is small, dark and unappealing. The other rooms face a nice garden court and seem better. Management was not at all helpful.

Good for frequent business/pleasure travellers
Local house that has been converted into a hotel. Pool is modest, house-sized - so feels more decorative. Great location for business or simply to move around Lima. Not many shops in the vicinity. Did not see any convenience stores around the neighbourhood. May not be the best for a first-time traveller to Peru or Latin America in general.

Thank you for your review. The neighborhood has changed quite a bit since your last visit: we have restaurants, casinos, banks, Starbucks, KFC and even a large shoppingmall (Real Plaza Salaverry).

Location is safe and pleasant but there is nothing near the hotel except KFC--no place for coffee,dining, browsing; taxi required for virtually everything except a Vivanda supermarket Toilet wedged between wall and shower; uncomfortable to use especially by this tall traveller. Flat screen tv was small and remote didn't work well. Hotel driver was very aggressive though reliable; costs weren't spelled out beforehand and resulted in some unanticipated expenditures. Next visit I'll stay in Miraflores.

Basadre Suites Hotel--Peru
A very quaint,, comfortable hotel. Very clean with a great breakfast of coffee,cereal, juice, fresh fruit, eggs, sausage sometimes potatoes or vegetables. also olives that were wonderful with cheese, ham and bread. The help was very pleasant and helpful with taxis and attractions. A very nice stay!
