Lovely hotel with terrific home cooked breakfast! Great patio for work or relaxation. Excellent and reasonable restaurant next door with friendly and knowledgeable waiter named Ronny, who speaks English for those travelers who don't speak Spanish.

Comfortable, eye catching San Jose hotel

Posted Jun 4, 2017 on Hotels
The hotel is beautiful! It's my style, numerous focal points. Paintings hanging in every conceivable place possible. Very nice accommodations, breakfast was excellent, the beds were absolutely the most comfortable that I slept in on my Costa Rican Vacation. We arrived at 1:00 AM, and it was a little hard to find. However, the place is gorgeous.

Great Hotel in Pavas - short drive to US Embassy

Posted May 28, 2017 on Orbitz
Pros: Unique hotel interior, good breakfast. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Location: It was a short drive (or taxi ride) to the Embassy - could be walked although a bit of a walk. (Hotel is located at the west end of Rohrmoser Ave.)
My wife and I stayed here when we had to renew our passports at the US Embassy. The hotel was unique and a good experience. Breakfasts were included and were very filling - you check off what items you want to eat on a form. WiFi in the room. A/C and ceiling fans and a small fridge in the room. Gated parking included across the street from the restaurant (ask to access the parking area). There is a heavy metal gate at the patio entrance to the hotel - they will "buzz you in" if they see you from the front desk or you can ring a doorbell (to the left of the gate). Going out, there is a button to press adjacent to the door out to the patio in order to open the gate. There are numerous paintings around the hotel and in the rooms - interesting just to walk around the hotel. (Note: a few paintings show topless women but are not pornographic.) Several twists and turns and some stairs to get to our room. The adjacent restaurant is very good. There is not much else near the hotel other than a small Chinese restaurant and a mini super. The area felt safe during the day and early evening, but it's probably not wise to walk the area late at night.

Been staying there every stopover to Los Sueños for the last 3 years. The staff, food and accommodations are outstanding. Nice and quiet.

Our stay was great, we didn't not have towels in our room though so after our shower we were lucky we had some with us. I think normally they have towels though so probably just a slight oversight.

Stay in an art gallery!

This hotel is far from being ADA-compliant! There are a lot of stairs and nothing is close. The neighborhood is OK, but it is in a mostly residential area.

Quirky in a good way. Simple. Nice staff. Good, big rooms. Good bathrooms. Hot water. Lots of art on the walls. Overall, a very solid choice and good value.
