Our Stay

Customer service is great, staff is very helpful and competent. We use the suite with two rooms. Space is clean. We had a king and a queen beds, I will suggest the hotel investing on better mattresses. The hotel is close to a very small shopping área. Breakfast offered is a good option. The restaurant offers lunch too and pretty affordable. Overall I good place for a few days.

Older, charming place - not without its issues

One night stay. Older hotel. We were given the kitchenette suite due to my husband's need for a refrig and microwave for blending, heating and storing his food. It was fine and spacious, but the kitchen was lacking in some basics that should be there, like dish soap, kitchen towels, basic condiments. The bath was beautiful and very spacious, but again, we were given one bath towel each, no hand towels nor washcloths. However, all that being said, both the desk guy when we arrived and the one the next morning were above and beyond in getting us something to eat when we arrived and for breakfast the next morning. Esp. since breakfast ended at 9am on a Sat. and I did not wake up until 9:15. There was no notice of breakfast hours anywhere and we were under the impression that the restaurant was open for both breakfast and lunch.

Dear Melinda, We thank you for your comments, we work harder everyday to provide our guests a better experience. The building in our hotel that you spent the night was actually built in 2004 but the architecture gives the impression of it being an older building. We get asked about this a lot. We provided a special room that is completely accessible with no extra charges to the room that had been reserved. We just want to point out, we do have all the kitchen ammenities needed, and we can provide them to the suites, people just need to ask for them because not everyone requires them and in case people need something else e.g. more dished, cups, soap, towels, the concierge or anyone at the hotel can provide them in no time. We do want to apologize for the inconvenience with the breakfast since it does go from 7-9 in the morning but most likely our co-worker forgot to specify this at the check-in. All things aside, we hope we can see you again in the near future and prove to you that we can always be better.

Security

We were a little intimidated with all the security bars all around the building. Our tour guide told us that many of the businesses and homes use the bars as their security. Most do not have any type of security systems.

Around our hotel in some sectors is the parking for the vehicles of the guests, which is why what really exists are the access gates to each parking lot.

Nice hotel for business trip

Pros: The room was very quiet.
Location: Quiet neighborhood, 500 meters to restaurants and Casino
I just stayed at the hotel during a business trip so I can't expend many hours at their facilities.

It was a very good hotel and room, excellent staff. Unable to take advantage of airport shuttle. We were in Cabuya and the Internet was not reliable To contact within this 48 hour window to call and let hotel know we would need shuttle. They knew we were booked already? Did not get much sleep , because of the jakes brakes the truckers we using all night along the causeway. It will be better once a restaurant is opened,so you do not have to brave some of the sidewalks with damage or large holes to find in the dark. But otherwise it was a nice suite that we had. Just not a lot of restaurants near by. Thank you

My new favorite hotel in San Jose

I have a home in southern Costa Rica and by necessity I have to spend a few nights in San Jose for various reasons. I have stayed at a great many different hotels in the area, but somehow I didn't know this hotel existed. Among the things that impressed me is first the location. It's close to downtown without the noise and bustle. The hotel is one block off the beltway, (almost like a private entrance to the beltway) yet it is extremely peaceful and quiet and within walking distance to several nice restaurants. Also,there easy access to San Pedro, Escazu, Santa Ana or the airport (plus free airport pickup). Second, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Third, the room was very nice, comfortable and clean. All of the property is clean and well kept. The breakfast is not a buffet style with sterno heat, rather a sit down and made to order hot breakfast. There were several guests the night I stayed there, and it seemed to me the management spread us out instead of stacking us all together in one section of the hotel. I've already booked another stay through Expedia.
