Worth every penny

Everything was great! Don't like to give 5 stars to anything but this place was Pretty Close! And the Breakfast's were "Amazing"! They said it was a "Continental breakfast" but I've never had one with so many options, different everyday and be good as well!! Will definitely be going back...

A bad experience at Radisson, San Jose, Costa Rica

Pros: Its location and the breakfast.
Cons: A lot. The condition of the room when the guest checks in. The cleanliness of the room. The attitude of the employees at the reception desk.
Location: The Jade museum. The gold museum. The National Theatre. The catholic cathedral. The cultural plaza. The souvenir market.
The hotel offers no transportation to and from the airport. They have a paid service that takes 40 minutes to arrive. They tried to downgrade my reservation when I was checking in and again when I had to transfer to another room. I was lied to by the hotel receptionist about an air conditioner outage. I couldn't get a wash towel even if I requested it and after informing a hotel manager. The maids make the decision about the guest getting a wash towel. To this day it baffles me that they place such value on a wash towel. My initial room's toilet didn't work properly, the telephone didn't work, and the bathroom floor was filthy, something I find out when I dried with a towel. The towel turned black. I sensed hostility from the employees at the reception desk after I expressed my frustrations to a manager. When I was leaving the receptionist, the same one who checked me in, refused to change a $50.00 bill for me so I could pay the taxi to the hotel. He commented that he only had $100.00 bills a comment I interpreted as " We don't need your money. We make enough business and don't need yours. " A young black receptionist lied to me when the air conditioner went out in my room due to an electricity outage. He told me the air conditioner was out throughout the whole facility when in reality only out in one area of the hotel. The prices charged at the restaurant are outrageous for the quantity and quality of the food.

Air broke first night, sweat profusely

Cons: Air conditioning and remain consistent on policy
Location: not much to do
Air broke same night spent two nights. I had a suite but no air. It was so hot I had to leave the room. Specifically chose the this hotel because of air and acceptance of pets, previously hosted a dog show and was the host hotel allowing dogs to stay. Arrived at the same hotel with 2 dogs from the states and they had changed there policy.

decent hotel

The hotel must have been beautiful in the past. Today it needs a good refreshing update to return it to its glory.

Make sure you make check in.

I misses my flight from North Costa Rica and Radisson was unable to change the day of check in or refund my money. Not sure if the property was nice or not but instincts tell me money is more important than customer service and satisfaction. Beware.

Overall a nice place.

Walk to downtown- straight shot in 10 minutes. Good breakfast. Great staff and tour pick ups. Only issue- Air conditioning out in our part of hotel- but when we requested room change- moved within 30 minutes. Beds comfortable and water good- temps and pressure. My husband and I would stay here again.

Will not stay again there.

The A/C was not working. Their connection to internet is very slow. The carpet in the room is extremely dirty. Overpriced restaurant. I would not go back neither recommend this hotel. I don't really understand how they can operate in that way.

Temperature inside the room

My only complaint is that I mention several times to the front desk that the air conditioning was not working in my room. The room temperature inside the room was 82 degrees. Way to hot for me. The front desk told me that they were looking into the problem. I stayed at the hotel for 4 days and for 4 days the room was hot. I like the hotel. I am coming back in June and I would stay there again providing this time the air conditioning works.
