Good location and helpful staff

Posted Apr 27, 2017 on Orbitz
We stayed here 3 nights. The first night our room was right by the lobby and very loud in the morning. We asked to move rooms the next night and it was very quiet. So would recommend requesting a room away from lobby. Breakfast was simple but more than enough and tasty. Bathroom small but was clean. This is a good hotel for the price. 10 min walk or so from main piazza. Staff always helpful and welcoming.

Comfortable enough

Posted Dec 7, 2016 on Ebookers
Pros: The room is very pleasant and the building has some charm.
Cons: The drain in the shower didn't run properly and breakfast seemed rather 'instant'.
Location: Location is close enough to the city center, station and bus stops at Piazza San Marco to be convenient.
Location was convenient, necessary facilities are present, clean and pleasant room with character (especially the old-fashioned shutters).

I arrived at the hotel and Monica and her well trained and efficient staff were so welcoming and helpful in all of my needs and requests. They were a pleasure and helped my stay in Italy comfortable and safe. It was an all around magnificent experience and the hotel is so cute and charming!! I would definitely return to stay. Thank you Monica, Rodrigo and Andrea.

This was a good hotel not far from main attractions. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful whenever I had questions. But maybe would be worth to spend a few more bucks for something else.

Good hotel but noisy

Posted Oct 11, 2016
The door locks were very loud as were the doors when opening and closing. Lots of banging! A group of young adults were staying there and made lots of noise at night. Breakfasts were less than average.

Dear Dan, we are so sorry that you did not appreciate your stay with us. We are sorry about the noise of the students but no one tells nothing at the reception during their stay so we thought that everything was ok. If you had some problems, you could ask to us and we could have done our best to help you. About the breakfast we offer a lot of different products from salted to sweet and you have the possibility to ask for free cappuccino, espresso, latte/macchiato ecc. Best regards Hotel Cimabue

Peaceful location - near to transport links

Posted Sep 26, 2016
Pros: A quiet room requested - was peaceful and extremely restful; liked the `black out` effect when the shutters were closed a decent sleep ensued.
Location: A Carrefour shop nearby-the mini-bottle of red wine was quite decent! Close to: the train station; San Marco Museum; the University and cheap eats.
Mid-September stay: loved the traditional building and setting; very peaceful room, much appreciated by someone who has terrible sleep habits; very comfortable bed; low noise from air conditioning/fridge - not all rooms have a fridge; great coffee - reasonable continental breakfast; quick check-in/check-out - chirpy young lady on reception. A very good experience. :)

I like the hotel lobby and room styling. Good service. Good breakfast. No complains at all for the hotel price.

Nice little hotel, right in the heart of Florence

Posted Jul 15, 2016
Pros: Friendly staff, well maintained rooms, breakfast and location.
Location: Close to the main cathedral, the academia gallery with Michaelangelo's David, the archaeological museum and the Ufizi gallery.
Easy walk to pretty much all the main attractions in Florence, and really helpful staff who can assist with planning trips to the various cathedrals and galleries. We were also given a map of the city on the first day which was very useful. Included breakfast was good and the room and attached bathroom were spacious and neat. The air-conditioning was much appreciated in the summer heat!

Mosquitoes in room

Posted Jun 27, 2016
The hotel staff were wonderful, but the windows wouldn't shut completely and neither would the shutters, so mosquitoes got in every night and bit us during the night. The breakfast was good but we were there several days and it was the same each morning. The guests next door came in at 2:30 am and were loud; the hotel staff leaves at 11 pm so there was no one to call; we had to ask the other guests to lower their voices. The hotel was a bit further from the historic center than we anticipated, with no close buses. We did a lot of walking. Overall, the hotel was okay but I would choose a different hotel if I were to go back to Florence. It is overpriced for the value. At about 80 euros per night it would be more appropriately priced.

Dear Anonymous, than you for comment. We are glad that you appreciated our staff. About the mosquitos every room has his machine with pills for mosquitos and if you didn't have this machine, you could ask at the front desk and we would be happy to help you. Our breakfast offers a lot of differents products from salted to sweet and the possibility to have cappuccino, espresso, caffè latte ecc asking at the staff. Our hotel is situated at 10 min walking from the cathedral of S. Maria del Fiore, and we have piazza San Marco at 2 minutes and from this square you have terminals of all buses. Finally you could see the hotel on the map and you could see how far we are from all the sights. Best regards Hotel Cimabue

Nice stay

Posted Jan 6, 2016 on Hotels
The Cimabue was nice. Nothing spectacular. The girls that worked there were great and helpful. It is about a 25 minute walk from the train station, it's a nice walk if you don't have a bunch of luggage. You pass thru downtown Florence. The walk to centro is short, 10 minutes. The neighborhood was quiet, no problems with noise. The room was comfortable, just nothing spectacular. It was clean, just older, 13 inch tube TV, those kinds of things. No real complaints, just a good inexpensive place to stay. If you want a more romantic place, more comfortable "in room" experience" this may not be the place. The morning breakfast was the typical Italian style, but good food. The girls made great coffee! I would recommend this place to anyone, just a more simple place.
