The hotel offers a fantastic breakfast with premium offerings. The staff are super-friendly and accommodating. Rooms are small but comfy, and 2 restaurants outside the courtyard act as an almost extension of the hotel. A hidden gem!

Lovely place, with a more "old school" feel to it. Staff was very nice and helpful. Room was great although the bathroom was very narrow. Had everything we needed and was in a great location. Would totally go here again :)

The property is in a great location central to everything while also being quiet at night. The decor is dated. The staff is friendly. There is no elevator.

My friend and I both got bit by something the night we were there all over which was horrible! But, the desk people were nice and let us check in early. Just don’t open your windows and you should be fine.

I was not able to visit Italy because of COVID-19 and my flight and cruse were canceled. Both companies refunded me even the flights were non-refundable, but this hotel is greedy. They told me that because my stay was after June 30, They are not going to refund my $400.00. We are talking about just $400.00! And they said NO. Cool. Enjoy it. Everybody knows that Italy does not allow USA citizen to enter the country. This hotel used other people desperate time to gain some money.

Bellissimo! The staff was super friendly and this charming hotel is just what we wanted. The room was really, really small, but perhaps that's standard for Venice. Didn't matter--we only slept there. The breakfast was the perfect way to start our day, and the folks at the reception desk happily answered all our questions in perfect English.

My boyfriend and I wanted an authentic Venice hotel and we got it. Marco who worked the desk at night was so helpful. He new the history of the hotel and the city. He also had great info about getting around in the city.

That photo you have, the one with the tables with lovely white table cloths? Yeah, only tables. The room I had was at the top of the first main staircase, it was a converted cupboard I'm sure, the en-suite really was an after thought and I'm not totally convinced that the wiring is up to standards. The air-con only warmed the room up, but opening the windows lets the mozzies in. The breakfast room is only slightly bigger than the room, if you use this hotel, get there early for a table. It's a shame, the location is great, the staff are ever so helpful too.

Great Location!
This hotel was great! If you are in Venice for a short period of time and need to stay some place that is literally within walking distance to everything, then this is it. Like most reviews have noted, the rooms are small but efficient. The beds were great, and the service was good as well. My mom and I were able to check-in quickly after a long day of flying, and then we left and within minutes arrived at San Marco square, etc.

No lift which made the 3 storeys to climb rather arduous! Would have liked some tea/coffee making facility in the bedroom. Finding our way to the hotel was very difficult - is there a decent map of Venice anywhere? Other than that, the staff were all extremely helpful and friendly and the hotel was located in a v good location between Rialto and San Marco

Terrible stay here which completely ruined our much anticipated holiday. All members of staff were extremely rude and unfriendly. We were wrongly accused of damaging the bed sheets which were required to pay £150 for. Staff forced us to pay despite proving we did not do any damage. Staff made us feel very upset and did not even thank us or even say bye upon departure. State of room was very very poor, very dirty and old bed sheets, which apparently cost £150 as we have had to pay. The toilet was broken and did not function properly. The hairdryer was very poor which was very inconvenient as were not allowed to use our own. Overall the hotel experience has left us with negative memories of Venice and really ruined our trip. Hope staff would understand how much customer service matters. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

In Venice, I was lucky to find my hotel everytime even my Google map was out, my hotel is good place near to main city, and the staff is very kind when my son was sick and looked for hospital.

A delightful experience
From our earliest pre-stay e-mail correspondence to our final "arrivederci", our experience with the Hotel Ateneo was top notch. The staff was beyond professional: they were genuinely friendly, the type of people who you'd like to hang out and chat with. We were fortunate enough to have been given a room in the building across the courtyard in a building separate from the main hotel. We had a private entrance and it felt as though we had our own private apartment...but with maid service! The location could not have been better, central to St. Mark's, the Rialto, and literally around the corner from La Fenice. Oh---and the breakfast was delicious. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend that you do, too.

Excellent location once you learn your way around the place but very hard to find first time with luggage in hands and walking in circles. No one knows the hotel name or the street Minelli. Google maps doesn’t show the correct location either!

The location is outstanding! Rooms very clean and staff friendly I definitely would stay there again, the shower was extremely small and if you have a lot of hair like me take your own hair dryer other than that it was a fabulous stay.
