Fun time in Venice

Posted Feb 3, 2018
The stripes were a little overwhelming but it was a nice room with two balconies that overlooked one of the side canals. Several gondolas traveled down in the morning while we were getting ready making for some great pictures. The breakfast was excellent. They also held our bags the next day after we checked out.

Cute, Charming, Great Location

Posted Jan 2, 2018
Pros: charm and price
Cons: a little dusty from the very long curtains
Location: centrally located to everything
If you're not looking to break the bank, then this is good compromise. The room was small (like all hotels in Europe) and there's no elevator, but the hotel has charm and it's quiet and comfortable. My girlfriend actually loved the old world tapestry's, decor and very high ceilings. I stayed at the Hotel Metropole several days earlier, which was triple the amount, but for what I paid at Hotel Centauro, I'd absolutely stay here again :)

Excellent location near to Rialto and San Marco.

Posted Dec 23, 2017
Pros: Location and value for money. Good to have a single room. Breakfast was excellent.
Location: Less than five mins walk to Grand canal and view of the Rialto. I walked to the hotel from P. Roma but took the Vaporetto back on my return.
Good value for money as Expedia had a sale. I hadn’t realised when I booked the room had an external shower and wc but both very near to my room and no problem. I would certainly consider booking here again.

Nice central location

Posted Dec 12, 2017
This hotel is situated right in the heart of San Marco within a few minutes walk of Rialto and St Mark’s. The Hotel was clean and comfy, however there is no lift and lots of stairs. My room was a single and very small, almost broom closet size, but was clean the bed was comfy and shower worked well. This is no 5* hotel, but you ain’t paying 5* star prices. If you want a central, comfy place to sleep, then you can’t go far wrong with this one. I would have no issues booking here again.

Old world Venice hotel in a Great Location

Posted Nov 29, 2017
The hotel is old world Venice. The location is great, its a short walk to St. Marks. I travelled to Venice on the train, got the Vaporetto to Rialto and its a short walk from there, easy to find. I walked out a lot, Ponte dell'accademia is not far, there are plenty of bars and restaurants near the hotel. Everything was great, I would go back again. Oh and the room rate was very good!

Perfect hotel if budget and location are priority

Posted Oct 24, 2017 on Hotels
Hotel Centauro is a great spot for tourists in Venice who want a central location but aren't fussed on the overall quality of the hotel. We had a double room that had a small ensuite, a comfortable bed, a wardrobe, desk, venezian decor and stocked mini fridge which we used to store our own water(drinking the mini fridge contents would cost as you'd expect). Free breakfast was continental and it was a good enough spread which is handy for anyone travelling on a budget as food is expensive. We filled up as much as we could which saved us some money! Location makes this hotel a hands down winner. It is 5 mins from the Realto Bridge meaning to get anywhere, we didn't need to use the waterbus once as we could cross the grand canal with ease. There are lots of highly rated restaurants nearby also. My major critique of the hotel is that it had no iron in the room or ironing room which is a first for me and I have stayed in tons of hotels. It meant I couldn't wear a lot of what I had packed so if you are staying there, pre-iron your wrinkly clothes and pack carefully, then hang up your clothes in the wardrobe on arrival. Overall, this hotel has room for improvement however at the cost we paid with the location we got, we were impressed and I would likely stay there again if I am on a budget next time. P.S. We are a gay couple who were made welcome throughout our entire stay. I noticed a prior review around homophobia that I completely disagreed with.

Good ubicación !

Posted Oct 20, 2017
It’s a clean and good ubicación hotel but it has some issues you must know: there’s no elevator (I had the third floor and lots of stairs and heavy luggage). Cannot use the air conditioner from october to March.. the receptionist girl is not too friendly ...

Dear customer, as we have said you many times, air conditioning in ALL Italiy works from May to October and that is why you have not been able to use it. The receptionist girl was not rude, she was trying to explain more and more times what you did not want to understand: that the air conditioning service did not depend from the hotel! Also, before booking, read the site: it is CLEARLY written that in our hotel there is no lift. Best regards
