Awesome location

Posted Jan 28, 2018
Pros: Location was the best
Cons: More options for the continental breakfast
Location: Best location ever! Once we figured out the transportation and the street signage, getting around was a breeze.
Best location ever, right on the canal. Very short walk to Piazza San Marco and the Rialto bridge. Room was huge and very clean. The staff was very helpful, with planning our days and arranging airport transportation. All the staff were fluent in English, most helpful.

Central, boutique hotel

Mediocre breakfast. Terrible coffee. Breakfast room service would be nice. Honesty Bar is a sweet touch.

Great location, fabulous staff

Posted Dec 30, 2017
When we made our reservation, I immediately had buyers remorse. As soon as we had the Expedia confirmation, I contacted the staff to confirm that our upgraded room had a canal view and was disappointed by requests for payment of additional fees. I sighed and thought, "oh, well, it's Venice and we won't be in the room that much." But when we arrived we had a third floor room with a high ceiling and historic beams and heard gondoliers serenading on the canel outside of our three canal view windows. The hearty breakfast has both European style ham and cheese, yoghurt, fresh croissants as well as bakery sweets, scrambled eggs and sausage. There is no teapot in the room but a central tea and coffee bar 24/7. The location was great for us - convenient to everything yet quiet for sleeping. Good beds. Nicely updated bathrooms. We enjoyed getting to know the staff both at the front desk and in the he breakfast room.We heartily recommend this hotel.

Magical stay

Amazing stay at Hotel Dell’Opera. Hotel is very central literally at the heart of Venice and very reasonable considering it’s only a street away from the high end shopping district & literally a 6 minute walk to Piazza San Marco. The hotel is charming with a winding staircase that gives your stay a dash of fairytale romance. My room though basically furnished was large and based in the attic giving it a high, wood beamed ceiling and stunning view of the canal the hotel is nestled on. It was a treat to open the windows and watch the Gondolas sail past while Gondoliers sang a mix of opera to classics like Volare. Staff were amazing, really helpful and accommodating, and the included breakfast was a feast. Added bonus to my stay was my room was situated at the base of the stairs which lead up to a private roof terrace which lets you look out over the roofs of Venice and the dome of the Santa Maria della Salute basilica. Already planning a second trip to Venice and will be staying at the Hotel Dell’Opera in the same room again. PS the restaurant vino vino below the hotel is excellent.

Great location (although can be tough to find at first) very convenient to St Mark's cathedral/square, simple and comfortable room with balcony overlooking a small canal, friendly staff, good breakfast. Would definitely recommend.

Great location close to St Marks Square and 10-15 min walk to the Realto Bridge. Woken in the mornings by Gondola floating past our window with Opera singing and accordion playing. Very friendly front of house. Breakfast room a little small but staff very accommodating to seat family together. Would go back again.

Small boutique style hotel, great location

Posted Oct 24, 2017
Pros: Location, staff, canal view, cleanliness
Cons: A bath would be nice to soak those aching feet in.
Emailed hotel before our stay and got a quick response. Water taxi from airport right to the hotel’s front door was a perfect arrival in Venice. Fabulous location, simply decorated, small, modern bathroom. Concierge was very helpful and provided maps of Venice marking hotel’s location. Breakfast room small but a good choice, even prosecco. Also provided a selection of gluten free breakfast items ( on prior request) Have already recommended to friends.
