An easy walk to St. MarksPosted Jul 20, 2017
Pros: Breakfast and location were excellent and the attached restaurant was really pleasant.
Location: The hotel was an easy walk to St. Marks square. The theater that it is next to is lovely and there are regular performances there.
I loved this hotel. The room was very small (twin bed, table, dresser) but it was so comfortable and the air conditioning was wonderful (and necessary in July). Breakfast was continental style with coffee/tea/juices, rolls and croissants, sliced meat and cheese, fruit, and yogurt, and was available for several hours in the morning. The staff were friendly and responsive.

Great location right near the Opera House.Posted May 29, 2017
Pros: The staff and location.
Cons: It is an old hotel. Someone has to like staying in a vintage place.
Location: Location is great - near all the ferries and everyone knows where the Opera is. Near good restaurants and very convenient,
The staff at this hotel is very helpful and lovely. They make you feel at home. I had a single room the first night that was not so nice, very tiny with a small window, Expedia emailed me to find out how the room was and when I said "not very nice", they notified the hotel immediately and the next day my room was changed to a much better one. The staff could not have been nicer - they apologized and said that they were booked in all the rooms when I arrived but were able to change it the next day. They were very helpful about getting me a water taxi to the airport at 5 am and reassured me - the Concierge took me by foot to show me where it would be. Very charming and professional. Breakfast was good. It was very clean. I would stay there again.

Disappointing value, convenient locationPosted May 18, 2017
Pros: Convenient location if a bit hard to find (everything is in Venice).
Cons: A thorough modernization would help.
Location: Close to the Grand Canal and Vaporetto stop Route 1, San Marco, other sites of interest across the canal.
We were disappointed by the quality of accommodations and service. OK, it is in Venice but it did not compare favorably to hotels costing half as much in Rome and Florence. It's OK, convenient and clean.

Convenient and with characterPosted May 17, 2017
Pros: Only ten minute walk from Rialto Bridge and St Mark's Square
Cons: A safe that works, old carpet, tea/coffee in the room
Location: It's in Venice! Everything is nearby!
This isn't a perfect hotel but it is very conveniently situated; breakfast was very good; the shower-room/toilet immaculate and the staff helpful and friendly. Perhaps our stained carpet could have been replaced and there could be some tea/coffee facilities in the room, but otherwise we had a very good stay for four nights.

Quintessentially Venetian - fabulous stay!Posted May 8, 2017
I loved my stay here. The staff were all warm and friendly and very helpful. My room was just gorgeous - eclectic and steeped in Venetian colours - I also had my own little rooftop terrace which was just perfect for a cool beer after a day of walking with the sound of the bells in the distance. Everything was clean and functional and breakfast was just fine. Just around the corner from the theatre, I loved the fact that I would hear random opera being sung in the street, or violins being played in other rooms. The little outside area was great for a coffee or limoncello at the end of the night and the little restaurant next door was fab too.

Seen better days, can be noisy, rude night clerkPosted Mar 7, 2017 on Hotels
There is a restaurant that does not belong to the hotel but is located on the ground floor. It plays loud music, live and taped, until 1 in the morning. No one warned me about this when I checked in. The man on desk at the hotel at night when it was clear this was a problem was totally unresponsive, even rude about it. I stayed here 30 years ago, it was an elegant place. Now it looks worn. And noisy...
Another excellent stayPosted Feb 21, 2017 on Hotels
Stayed here a number of times and recommend it to friends too - has some good value single rooms. Great location, excellent price. Slight room for improvement is the buffet breakfast - lots of pastries, meat, cheese, cereal etc but a bit more range of food; hot dishes, fruit would be welcome. See you in September

Nice hotel for price convenient locationPosted Nov 25, 2016
Hotel was good for price personally I thought the shower could do with complete overhaul it leaked and was mouldy in places. Room was small but we only slept in it so wasn't concerned tea/coffee making facilities would improve the stay experience 100% also a cooked breakfast included in price would also be better than a cold croissant which is personally not to my liking. Overall good experience would recommend as a good hotel to stay in as good outweighs minor niggles and nothing is perfect
