Staffs are nice, breakfast is good and enough choice for me. Room is clean, microwave and refrigerator in the room. Just a few bugs in the bathroom. anyway I will stay again.

Motel

This is not a typical La Quinta. It's a motel where you park outside your room. There is a really nice Hilton Garden Inn a block away. I would suggest staying there.

Roger, Thank you for your review. I am so sorry that you felt we are not like other LQ's We are an Inn not an Inn and Suites. There are two types of hotels that go under our name. Inns are open to the outside with less amenities and Inns and Suites are the high rise hotels with more amenities. All of the websites show pictures of our hotel and amenities. Do not stay here

Train horns all night. We woke up to no electricty in the hotel.

GMF, Thank you for your review. I am so sorry that the train horns bothered you.The train horns that you heard can be heard from anywhere in San Marcos. In addition the electricity was the City of San Marcos not our fault. The entire city block was out of power which included apartments, homes and many business. Only issue that I had with this hotel is that the toilet was dirty. Other then that, everything was great!

Like the new look!

Enjoyed our stay, rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast area was nice and food was good.

Staff is lovely, hotel is okay.

The facade is a little sketch. The outside door stuck so I thought my key didn't work and had it re-coded twice. Turns out you just have to force it open. The rooms were older and no frills but seemed very clean. Came back from an event and there were two cop cars and people (guests?) being arrested. I wasn't terribly surprised. I was originally in a room w windows facing the highway and it was super loud so I called the front desk and the very nice man immediately changed my room, brought my keys and helped me to a different room.

Horrible smell.

Horrible smell from the carpet. Property is not secure as it is on the Freeway. Old fashioned yard style building accommodation. Breakfast was basic and yogurt had started going bad.

Chelsea, I am sorry you had a bad experience at our hotel. I am so sorry to hear that the carpet smelled. This is the first that I have heard about this as it was not mentioned during your stay and we have had no other complaints about this. Telling us during your stay would have prompted us to rectify the situation. Our breakfast yogurt is kept frozen and thawed for service as all hotels do. I am not sure how yogurt starts to go bad but I can assure you that we serve our yogurt as instructed and it was not expired. If there was some sort of other issue you should have brought it to the staffs attention. Thank you again for your comments. Sandra C. General Manager

Not Clean

The room was not clean, it had roaches. Did not feel comfortable staying there. The staff was accommodating with trying to help offered us a new room went and looked at first.. It was unacceptable it had droplets of blood on the carpet.. so we just stayed in the original room.. The front desk manager is the morning asked us about stay we told him about the experience and he apologized. Rick was very professional.

Breakfast

Breakfast was not good at all. The yogurt was bad. The hard boiled eggs were bad. Not very many fresh food options.
