Belmont Sierra Nevad

Posted Nov 20, 2017
Pros: 1. Colonial design 2. Friendly staff 3. Great Location
Cons: Rooms, technology, roomservice, foodservice, instalations overall
The Staff is really nice and helpful but there are things the hotel must address, defiinately not a 5 star hotel, not even maybe a 4. 1. Room service menu has only like 4 plates. 2. The TVs are old (how much is a flat TV now a days... Yes less than the cost of the stay, they really need to do some upgradeing) 3. fireplases are fueled by gas we had a lot of trouble turning it on so had to call maintenance, the smell of gas when being used and after is unbearable. 4. Pool heater for the suite not working properly or at least the temperature doesn't go high enough for one to be confortable enough. 5. Had to call 10 times before someone could figure out how to transfer to room service since they had a wedding at the restaurant. 6. Internet took over half a day for us to be working properly and the overall conection was deficient. 7. The quality of the breakfast was awful the food was cold. 8. Bathroom floor heater not working 9. Needs carpeting in some areas of the room

Belmond Casa De Sierra Nevada centrally located

Posted Oct 11, 2017
You cannot beat the location of this hotel. It is walking distance to many restaurants, boutiques and the center. Keep in mind that the center of San Miguel is on a hill and streets are cobblestone. You may have sore calf muscles from transversing cobblestone streets! If you get tired there are many taxis that can shuttle you to and from the hotel for about 50 pesos or $3. Hotel Belmond Casa is undergoing renovation so Andaza restaurant and Blue bar were closed for our visit. I was disappointed not to have a hotel bar or higher end restaurant within close range to our room. However the Belmond Casa hotel does have a casual restaurant and bar located about 4 blocks away and a shuttle is provided. I will look forward to returning to Belmond Casa De Sierra Nevada and enjoying Andanza restaurant and the Blue Bar.

Pros: large rooms and very comfortable -- private pool area was very relaxing
Cons: more amenities at the pool. Easier way to obtain water and maybe a snack.
Very nice facility in the heart of San Miguel. Quite and comfortable rooms with an excellent staff on hand to assist with any of your needs.

We would return to this hotel again

Posted Jul 5, 2017
Pros: The personal attention given to us by all the staff. I liked that we had our own private courtyard when we came in from off the street.
Location: The town center is 1.5 blocks away, amazing restaurants, and shopping just as close in every direction.
Everything about our stay at this hotel was wonderful. Everyone was so helpful and the accommodations were absolutely worth the five star rating. We felt totally pampered, our own butler (Gustavo, who made sure to introduce himself to us and brought me a flower with my coffee every morning), coffee brought to your room within 5-10 minutes of calling, any issue was attended to immediately no matter how small. The bar renewed our faith that the original margaritas were not forgotten in Mexico (up, shaken, no sugar added, served like a martini). Breakfast was the most delicious french toast I've ever tasted.

Wonderful property! Excellent Staff! The Hotel is very well located in the historic area and a quick walk to the Jardin, Parrochia and centro. We dined several times in the restaurant.~ lovely atmosphere, meals were delicious, staff excellent. Our room faced a lovely courtyard and the swimming pool, The room was generously sized and well appointed.

First stop of our three week Mexico vacation

Posted Jun 26, 2017 on Orbitz
Pros: The hotel is set up into 5-7 casa's, located in different places, we enjoyed staying in the Caballo Casa-it was different and very charming.
Cons: The bathtub is quite dangerous, it has a slighting back and getting into the shower/tub is slippery and makes one very uneasy and when showing.
Location: San Miguel is a very beautiful town, with lots of history, culture, education and activities to enjoy. The hotel staff had a list of things to suggest
This is the best hotel to stay at in San Miguel de Allende, It will not disappoint, from the lovely rooms to the friendly and very accommodating staff, every thing was most wonderful. Our regards to the wonderful staff, who arranged our transportation from Guanajuto Leon airport to San Miguel to helping with tours of the city and to the mineral springs. Getting to San Miguel was a bit out of the way for us, but it was very worth it and very happy we went. Will never forget our time spent there and hope to visit again.
