A peaceful stay in San Miguel

Posted Apr 29, 2017
Pros: View, location, character and history behind this hotel, friendly staff.
Cons: A right hand railing on the stairway leading up to the second floor is recommended. Improved shower head in bathroom.
Location: If you need the feeling of home, there is a beautiful Starbucks located in the town square. Tell them "Diablo" sent you :)
The hotel is old and quaint. It is not in the luxury category, but it is surprisingly comfortable and full of character. It provides a great view of the city, as it is situated close to the top of a hill. It is comfortably within walking distance to the town, town square, restaurants and shops. However, if you are older, walking down the hill may be easy, but walking back up may be difficult, so just take a taxi when you are ready to return. The bedding was quite comfortable with nice linens , and the bathroom linens were really nice as well. Most of the hotel staff does not speak english, but they were all none the less extremely helpful, and made efforts to communicate. "Luis" at the reception desk spoke very good english, and was able to assist on several occasions. We would recommend to friends or relatives.

San Miguel de Allende Vacation Spot

Posted Apr 14, 2017
Location: Good restaurants were just down the street. The hotel was convenient to all the San Miguel sights and activities. I walked everywhere.
The courtyard and gardens were especially lovely. The room was basic, but very clean. My room was on the street, a small street, but was a little noisy early in the morning. There were other rooms off the central courtyard and gardens that would have been quiet. The location was very convenient to the central, old part of town.

Close to downtown

Posted Aug 31, 2015
Pros: Its close to the downtown área. Easy to walk down the road and be in the centre.
Very nice, very quiet. Staff is very friendly. Also plus is that they have a parking space. No need for a car anymore after checking in. The rooms upstairs are very nice, especially in the back # 5 and # 6, with a nice view.

Beautiful colonial hacienda

Posted Aug 30, 2015
Pros: Everything!
This is a lovely hotel in an old Mexican home with old tile and beautiful center patio with fountain and outside landscaping with bouganvilla. The suites are charming with the tile and bright with windows. Furnished kitchens are wonderful. Rooms are on upstairs terrace with to die for view of the garden and city. I loved this hotel! My idea of the perfect place to stay in Mexico. On the edge of the Centro, so walking distance to everywhere in town, but very quiet.

Historic building. Needs updating.

Posted Dec 21, 2014 on Hotels
This is an old historic building with basic apartments, not luxury. Beautiful courtyard and terraces. The building needs work but the apartments are very clean. Friendly helpful staff. Up a long hill, 15 min walk from the center or a short taxi ride.

Very unconfortable

Posted Mar 16, 2014 on Hotels
It was only one night stay to catch an early morning fly back to USA. The bed has an old mattress that squeak at any movement, the pillows had an unpleasant smell, the toilet paper was hard as sand paper and there was absolutely no silverware . Besides the stairway to the rooms is not wide enough and to top it all the manager is prejudice against special needs individuals.
