We had a group of 11- 6 Adults (at least by age, maybe not action), and 5 young adults/late teenagers.
Highlights: The layout of the property with individual interconnected villas was just perfect for our group. The pool was fantastic. The property was perfectly clean. Each villa was cleaned and beds made everyday. This was a nice surprise. Donny & Fanny take care of you and the place. Just great people. You need something, anything, they know how to get it. Fanny made breakfast every morning or whatever you want. Siri’s is the cook. Trust her. She has a menu. Take advantage of having a first class cook on site. You pay for the groceries and her gas and she does ALL your shopping. An incredible value, and throw in the quality of her work then you really can’t beat it. Be aware though, she pays everything in cash, so bring plenty.
The view & beach. That’s what you’re paying for. Just amazing. Your teenagers will love the Instagram likes they get from their pics.
I don’t know how people mentioned Nathalee was unresponsive. We had great communication with her. Prior to our trip, we chatted on the phone about a variety of logistics. During our visit, she stopped by again to review logistics, plan some outings, etc.Use her expertise and she’ll set up whatever you need. Golf carts, fishing, snorkeling, you name it, she handles it.
As much as we loved the convenience of having Siria, we did venture to a few dinners out. The first night is important to have a plan to go out as Siria probably won’t have you set up yet. There are several top notch places within a 5 min beach walk. The bar next door (Johns Escape) took great care of us. Somehow we had drinks delivered to OUR pool, they kept walking them over.
The dock was a source of great fun. Beware through, it is a stop for the water taxis. Each afternoon we found ourselves swimming off the dock looking for Charlie the Eel (lives underneath, so be nice to him), the rays, and all the fish. Keep your eyes out and you might get lucky enough to see some shark, we saw several. At night, the tarpons would swim up to the dock. Tons of them.
My only caution is to keep in mind the place is 15 or so years old. If you’re expecting a place right out of Houzz, you’re 15 years too late. We loved the place, but ocean air can be rough and Donny has his hands full keeping up with it. This is a stylistic point. The place is more like comfy bungalows, not ultra modern hipster.
