Convenient to expressway and decent.

Posted Sep 17, 2017
Pros: Decent and convenient.
Cons: The appearance of the parking area.
Location: Very convenient for travelers.
The parking area was on the crummy side, but the room was clean and very decent. The attendant was somewhat rude at the start, but her attitude improved markedly during our stay. It was very reasonable and convenient to our destination and the expressway.

Nice room bad location

Posted Aug 25, 2017
This motel was well kept with really nice/clean rooms, but the location was bad. The motel was right by the freeway and in a part of town that didn't feel safe. Free breakfast was little more than coffee and plastic wrapped pastries.

Clean room, breakfast is pathetic

Posted Aug 24, 2017
Pros: Rooms were neat and clean. Microwave and Refrigerator already present in the room.
Cons: It shouldn't say breakfast is included, so that guests can be prepared. What they offer cannot be called breakfast...
Check-in was fast. Room was neat and clean. Microwave and refrigerator were already provided in the room. Was shocked to find out about the breakfast option...

Bare Bones Motel

Posted Aug 1, 2017
Pros: Check in was easy. Person was accommodating. Morning coffee in the office was good.
Cons: The parking is terrible if you get in late. Lanes are way too small and difficult to get into.
Price was too high for this motel which is nothing special. Not everything worked in the room like the outlet and dryer. Breakfast was a bunch of packaged food.

Stayed at hotel for two nights, primary criteria was location and price. Hotel was simple and clean, not much in amenities but it was clean and had free wifi. Hotel is next to freeway, close to San Rafael downtown area, lots of restaurants within 5 minutes.

An affordable option with nice touches

Posted Jul 12, 2017
The North Bay Inn is a good, affordable option if you are visiting the San Francisco, Marin County, and the north bay area. Highway 101 is right outside (literally). From there, it's a short drive to the Larkspur Ferry Landing, which offers regular service to the Ferry Building in San Francisco. While the exterior of the North Bay Inn is unassuming, I appreciated the quality of my room's interior, with a king bed and sofa. Everything was clean. The dark wood, firm mattress, five pillows, sofa, and new bathroom fittings make this a hidden gem. Some people are bound to complain about the location, freeway noise, and lack of on-site breakfast. I could hear the freeway but had no problem falling asleep. If you're looking for food, drive a mile to downtown San Rafael. There's a shopping mall, a Starbucks, and several supermarket and dining options. Or head over to the Marin Country Mart across from the ferry landing, which is more upscale. The closest In-N-Out is a few exits away, just off Hwy 101 in Mill Valley.

Great hotel

Easy access to highway. Room was very clean and sound proof. Breakfast wasn't anything special. Staff were efficient and helpful. Overall a good stay and you get what you pay for.
