Nice surprise
Never heard of soto grande before although we live in Spain. What a wonderful surprise the whole development and hotel is. Upon entering the room is was a wow. With some Spanish quirkiness.

Best hotel in the area
The hotel is directly on the marina with a distant view of Gibraltar. The hotel and surrounding area were so nice, we stayed extra nights. I definitely recommend the rooms with a view to the marina. The rooms are set up such that the shower and the toilet are in separate rooms each (the room with the toilet also has a bidet) which are facing each other and have a glass door. The sink is continuous with the bedroom. Next to the bedroom is a sitting area with a large window. The bedrooms are fitted with books and designed to feel comfortable for a longer stay. The rooms were not in bad condition, but could use just a little bit of attention. There was decent selection for the buffet breakfast which included fish, a variety of cheeses, some fruit, eggs, muffins, and cereal. Indoor and outdoor seating is available with outdoor seating facing the marina and the view of Gibraltar. The hotel has an elevator and also offers free bicycle rental. Service was not effusive, but the staff were very accommodating.

Very Pleasant But a Little Faded
The hotel is part of the Leading Small Hotels of The World group and the rusty plaque at the door in some way reflects the hotel, which although quite modern seems to have grown a little tired. Of course it was late season which could explain the ambiance. We arrived late to find nobody available to check us in and then there was a mix up with one the rooms which although simple to rectify seemed to cause a drama. The rooms are very pleasant with an unusual configuration of an open plan bathroom on entering the door. This is quite novel although a little disconcerting when the chamber maids enter the room unannounced! Glass doors on the shower and the loo is a feature I don't understand either. There is a nice atrium, a games room and a bar/restaurant on the terrace which serves good tapas and meals. They need to upgrade the tables and chairs though. The hotel has an arrangement with a nearby beach club which was very pleasant. The location in the port is very convenient.

Lovely hotel in a stunning location!
We stayed here for one night en-route to Tangier and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Parking anywhere in the marina was free and, in April, many spaces. The weather and scenery made this a place we would definitely return to. A great mix of restaurants and bars along with beautiful walks for the adults, and the kids had open spaces, fountains and even child size Segways they could hire to enjoy themselves while the parents soaked up the atmosphere. Definitely a place to stay for a few nights..

Good hotel in great position in Sotogrande marina. Near to restaurants (walking distance). Clean, comfortable and helpful staff. Room was surprisingly spacious with plenty of storage. we a a side on view of the marina which was OK. Lots of golfers use this hotel so breakfast can be busy.

Strange room layout. Beware of the step!
Strange design in the bedroom. The bed is raised by a badly marked step that frequently is tripped on. Also there is no privacy for the toilet nor the shower, as this is open to the entrance lobby without any doors! Very odd!

Great position in the centre of the Marina
We stayed for four nights and everything was very good. Breakfast on the terrace was really lovely and the staff were always helpful. Our room was large with views of the Marina. The only small negative was that we stayed in September and would expect the Hotel had a very busy summer so our room looked a little "tired". The shower is a little difficult and you have to sit in the bath to use it or flood the bathroom.

great Hotel
Weather was not great while there but found hotel to be very helpful. plenty of space in the room, great balconey and very powerful shower. we eat oncein the restaurant and breakfast everyday, all very relax and pleasurably.

Great hotel overlooking marina
Stayed in this hotel whilst visiting sotogrande for a wedding. Asked for a room with a view of marina and gibraltar and got it. The room was spacious with some nice features ie bath in window! All the staff from the room attendants to the staff in their Midas bar/restaurant were excellent. Near to other good restaurants but would recommend their tapas and pizzas. Breakfast plentiful and beautifully presented on terrace overlooking Marina. Can't wait for our next visit!

Lovely hotel in the port.
Great clean, comfy hotel in the port, walk to bars, restaurants and the beach. Friendly staff,clean rooms and very comfortable beds. Enjoyed the buffet breakfast sat on the first floor roof terrace overlooking the boats and the harbour. Just make sure that you ask for a room at the front of the hotel to look over the lovely views. We will definitely go back to this hotel again.

Hotel a little difficult to find and parking can be an issue (although free) Once there, position is fantastic, right next to the port. Hotel clean, a little "boutiquey", but nice. Our room was overlooking the port. very quiet area. Many bars & restaurants within 2 minutes walk, can be a little pricey compared to my home in Huercal Overa. Breakfast ok. No hot food available but cold buffet of good quality. Only 20 minutes drive to Gibraltar. On balance a good hotel and we would return.

The staff at this hotel is great. They are so friendly and helpful and thoughtful. The rooms have a bright airy quality though the design of them is a bit odd. I loved the blackout grill in the room!

Stayed here 3 nights in early October. Great hotel in Sotogrande marina. Close to beach and restaurants. Nice continental breakfast. Excellent beef tenderloin in the restaurant! Only negative; unable to get wifi to work in bedroom.

Stayed here after a day in meetings with companies in Gib. This hotel is in a great location next to a beautiful Marina. It has a boutique feel, with real character, but without compromising on quality or comfort. Will stay again next time I'm in the area. Unbelievably good value.

Lovely Boutique Hotel
Ideal location with beautiful rooms. Attention to detail and service is obviously key in this hotel. The reception staff were lovely and even lent us a plug adaptor. The breakfast staff could have been a bit more prominent but this is just a minor detail. Would have scored excellent for overall rating if it had had a swimming pool.
