My family loves this hotel! I love the room, since it is good for a big family to live. My kids love the fireplace. We also love the breakfast. Will come again!

Great rates for the Christmas Market

Posted Dec 14, 2015
Beautiful grounds and the gardens are so gorgeous even though they are subdued for winter. Rooms in the second floor with forest view are the best- always try to book the family suites- All that being said was disappointed that although we booked the same day as our friends who reserved the same kind of room - a month in advance- they never would guarantee us rooms next to or close to each other! We called the next am after making the reservation and they still wouldn't do it. We even drove up there from LA for the day in November and walked into the hotel and asked again for rooms at least near each other..... When we arrived Dec 11 guess where our friends room was-- practically on the other side of the property--- really?!?! With a months notice and a personal visit to arrange this-- you couldn't get us a building or two apart? Plus they were given a parking lot view inner building which didn't impress these first time guests to Central Cal. We of course offered to trade rooms with them but they declined --- Then their wall- fold down bed wouldn't come down- the bolt was bent and they couldn't unlock it--- in our room one fireplace worked and one didn't-- Do watch your budget because dinner here is high 20s to 30 dollars etc---parties of six get a mandatory 18% tip added on--- Personally i think they should include tickets to the Christmas Market with your stay during these December weeks--I mean it's what- $5-$10 each---- Pool is heated and clean- Nice ambiance--

Always look forward to staying here!

Pros: Loved the location and their landscaping & strolling through the gardens. The complimentary breakfast is nice and their dining room is warm & charming
Cons: Improve lighting in rooms in 2 story Lodge rooms
Location: Downtown Cambria - a wonderful place to visit interesting stores and nice restaurants. Beautiful beaches on frontage road - Moonstone & Jade Beach.
Our accommodations on this visit weren't the best, as we stayed in the older Lodge area and the rooms were noisier and lighting was poor. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean but you were able to hear people next to you and over you real easy. I will stay in the newer cottages at my next visit, it's worth the $$.

Just stayed for one night. Room is clean but a bit old. The heater is really old fashion that you have to guess what is the set temperature. The complementary breakfast does not have many selection but still good.
