Disappointing

Posted Aug 20, 2015
Pros: Spacious and kitchenette, bath and dressing area were clean. Grounds seemed nice and generally safe for exploring and close to woods for hiking.
Cons: Bedroom mattress so old the springs coming through; carpeting outside of central pathway not clean w dust & bugs collecting; no insulation/very noisy
Location: Located in woods area for hiking; walkable paths to Cambria and town center has many shops and decent restaurants.
Difficult to locate room lodge-like structure because of poor numerical signage; shotgun room design w small patio facing woods, however, noise from town bar, rooms next door & overhead ruined the experience. Staff provided exceptionally poorly sketched directions into town (which turned out to be quite accessible).

Breakfast was a disappointment. More like a motel breakfast than an inn.

Nice size room with a view.

Posted Aug 13, 2015
Pros: The room size and bathroom was very spacious. Nice area to sit outside. We saw a family of quail run by.
Cons: The shower water pressure was terrible. The breakfast was good but way too crowded. Some comfy chairs for tv watching would have been nice.
Location: Cambria's downtown area was good size. We enjoyed the antique stores. We had dinner at Linn's. The pot pie was to die for and the pie was the best
A friend told us about this hotel, so we were excited to get there. The room was quite large with 2 queen beds (prefer a king). The bathroom had a tub and a separate shower.

Pros: Fast service, response to anything that was needed. Great room with high end remodeling. Great pool and spa.
Cons: Maybe change breakfast menu, although good with warm items and fruit.
Location: Near beach park where we held a family reunion. Near Hearst Castle, wineries.

Nice hotel in nice town

Posted Aug 10, 2015
We enjoyed our stay in the Cambria Pines Lodge very much! The suite for six people, we had, was very spacious, well equipped, perfectly clean and very cosy. The dinner and the breakfast at the restaurant were also very good and the bar is lovely. We would have loved to stay longer.

Stayed one night for our visit to Hearst Castle. Beautiful place, great breakfast, and reasonably priced. Wouldn't have minded staying another night. Highly recommend.

Lovely gardens to wander through.

Posted Aug 7, 2015
Pros: The gardens and pet friendly The hotel cat Smokey is a love!!
Lovely gardens. Easy to escape and view nature. I loved the Fire road views of the mountains! Views of the valley and mountains were spectacular at sunset and even sun rise, from our window in the room! The staff was very helpful when our shower did not drain. Two very nice gentlemen were courteous and very prompt on responding to our call. The on site cat Smokey, is a lovey lil guy! He stayed in our room for a few hours, enjoying a light snack with us and a sip of water! He then joined us for a stroll in gardens the next morning and then stopped by to see us off!! Was a bit disappointed in the food at restaurant, for the prices charged!! There were small flies (dead) stuck to our bathroom ceiling and that was a bit gross. On a whole I would come back to stay! Super happy they are dog friendly!!

Really liked this hotel! Very quiet. Comfortable beds and pillows. Slept like a child.
