It was a nice hotel. Located away from the busier part of Moonstone Beach. The resort staff were very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the hotel room. Had a good view of the ocean and good walking trails and beaches.
Rooms are luxurious and up-to-date. Adequate parking. Included hot breakfast was acceptable. Our ocean view room felt secluded with a succulent garden just in front of the patio, the ocean just across the street.
Nothing fancy, but clean room and comfortable bed. Beautiful view of the ocean from our room. We had a very good breakfast at the hotel restaurant, although it seemed a bit pricey. Would stay here again if visiting the Hearst Castle, as it's only 5 minutes away.
Good location - close to beach and walking distance to downtown. But, the wi-fi is useless (the service/signal is non-existent) and there is basically no cell phone service. Compared to other hotels in the area, this is on the higher end of cost and it is very disappointing that for the money we ...
Within walking distance of galleries, shopping and great eateries! Very nice luxury accommodations with beautiful grounds and sitting areas. Beds and bed linens VERY comfortable. Mariann upgraded our room to make it an even greater memorable experience.
This hotel is quaint and quiet. Very clean, nice sized rooms. Comfy chairs move close to fireplace. TV was challenging to work, and most channels were unavailable. Short drive to moonstone beach. Partial ocean view is nice but not close to beach as we expected.
It is obviously and old motel but has been remodeled. Therefore, not fancy but clean and suitable. If you get room with a view you will see a beautiful sunset but over the tops of other buildings. If you want more quaint and romantic, pick a motel on coast side of highway 1.
Stayed 2 nights while visiting the Hearst castle and area. Older hotel, not fancy but room was clean and staff was great. If you want something close to Hearst castle and don't mind a dated hotel, this is a good option. They gave us a voucher to use at the restaurant next door for breakfast. The ...
This was our second visit to the Cavilier Ocean Resort. The hotel is very nice, the rooms clean, and comfortable, and the grounds kept up beautifully. We especially enjoy the evening bonfires, keeping us warm, as we watch the sunset over the ocean. We will definitely return!!
We were surprisingly delighted with our stay at Sea Otter! My husband travels a lot and prefers 4-5 star resorts, so without that option in Cambria, he was expecting to be disappointed. However, we would love to return to this hotel in the future and will definitely recommend it to friends! It is ...
Very nice view from all the upstairs rooms. Hardwood floors, fireplace, luxurious bed. The outside of the property is deceptive, nice but very plain - not so in the rooms. We stayed here to start our Northbound trek on Hwy 1. Wonderful, more like 3-1/2 to 4 stars.
My family of 4 booked only one night at this inn. This inn was quaint, had a rustic beach charm to it, but was in no way luxurious. It was very clean, I will have to say that. You can borrow movies from the office which we did. The shower to me was a bit lacking. Small shower head and the temperature ...
Good hospitality - whether from a luxury hotel or budget motel - involves meeting or exceeding the guest's expectations. At the Motel 6 San Simeon, my expectations were far from met. As a frequent traveller, this is the worst hotel experience I've had in a long time. The litany of problems include:- ...
