Perfect hotel to stop during Highway 1 drive

Posted Jul 14, 2017
This hote has been recently renovated and it has been done extremely well. The rooms were cleanly, modern and the bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel is 2 minutes walk from the beach, 10 minutes drive from San Simeone where the elephant seals are. There are games which can be played such as croquet and the fire pits that can be sat around are a nice touch. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Overall this is a perfect place to stay if you are doing the Highway 1 drive over more than one day.

Very fresh and nice family friendly stopover

Posted Jun 28, 2017
A little dissapointed due to that the pool was closed. The pool was one of the reasons we booked the hotel. But very nice play area for the kids and fire places for the adults. Rooms where very nice and newly renovated. Recommend this for family's but check that the pool is open. We where offered to go to sister hotel and use their pool so all credit to the staff.

We appreciate your feedback and understand your disappointment that our pool was not available during your stay. We should soon have it open for our guests, it is one of the continued renovations we are doing to improve things. We are also pleased to know that you appreciated the play area and our new fire pits. We sincerely hope you will be our guest some time in the near future when our pool reopens. Our next phase will be a complete remodel of our breakfast area into a restaurant serving, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Great Family Hotel

Posted Jun 22, 2017
Pros: Customer service, extra activities, location
Cons: An extra mirror in the room to finish getting ready while another is showering and to have more light in the room (just dim table lamp between beds).
The staff is very friendly and the hotel is in a great location. We appreciated and enjoyed the extra activities provided. We were traveling with our teenager son and successfully disconnected him from his phone and the tv to play croquet, bocci ball, and shuffleboard. We enjoyed some good quality family time together. The fire pits are nice and the breakfast was good. It is a very short walk to the beach.

Close to the water

Posted Jun 15, 2017
Pros: It had amenities that made the stay very cozy- hot drinks in the common room and bonfires available in the evening.
Cons: The heater in our room did not work so it was a bit chilly in April. Also, room service came super late in the afternoon when we were winding down.
Location: You can walk to the coastline and view the sunset/sunrise, visit neighborhood eateries, or go on a short trip to downtown Cambria.
The condition of the hotel was really accommodating. The staff were really friendly (even though we checked in pretty late in the day) and they were available to answer questions that we had. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the common areas during the evening time, and the breakfast in the morning.

Mini getaway to Cambria

Posted Jun 8, 2017
Pros: Decor very artsy and bed was super comfy!
Cons: Morning breakfast could use improvements as it is a continental style with mostly white sweet breads and some fruit. OJ did not taste good.
Location: Hike down to beach. Also very interesting gallery down the block. Town is quite cute with charming stores and art galleries.
Loved the location of Oceanpoint Ranch as well as the remodel they have done to the rooms. It is all tastefully done and I like the fact they upgraded us mid week to get a fireplace! I enjoyed being close to walk to the state park and walking along the beach and rocky tide pools. They also had lovely firepits to enjoy a bottle of wine in the evening. It gets quite windy at late afternoon, so come prepared. Morning breakfast could use improvements as it is a continental style with mostly white sweet breads and some fruit. I think they need to change the OJ as it is not real or concentrate and tasted like "tang" or something strange. I will definitely come again. Excellent price!! If the pool was heated, it was broken, I would give it a 5 star.

Was very nice, private beach walkway.. clean... the walls were extremely thin... I could hear the conversation in detail in the rooms next to me.

Nice quiet location away from the busy areas.

Posted May 30, 2017
Pros: Friendly staff and the amenities were good. Had lots of activities to do on site.
Cons: The room didn't have a closet for any of your belongings so there was no where to put your things. The breakfast buffet was ok.
Location: Hearst Castle tour, elephant seal rockery and lighthouse both nearby.
It was a nice hotel. Located away from the busier part of Moonstone Beach. The resort staff were very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the hotel room. Had a good view of the ocean and good walking trails and beaches.

We just happen to agree, Oceanpoint has a very unique location away from the busier area of hotels. It is also nice to read that you found our staff friendly and accommodating. As to the issue of closet space, our design staff is currently looking for a solution to that. Plus our breakfast options will change as we are soon starting a complete remodel into a full service restaurant. If you are ever in the Cambria area again, hopefully you will be our guest.

Nice hotel ear the beach

Posted May 25, 2017
I have always stayed at this hotel. I was a little a little apprehensive with the change of owners but I was not disappointed at all. I loved the artificial grass with the fireplaces in front of the hotel (great move to save water). The rooms was very nice and the beds were very comfortable. My only suggestion is to improve the lights in the room (too dark) and to add a mirror in the room.

Pros: Nice property. Nicely decorated rooms and comfortable beds. Coffee tea available until 10. They have table shuffle board and seating around fire pits.
Cons: See above about pool. Also need somewhere to hang hand towels near sinks.
The decor in the rooms is nice and it's very clean. Front desk staff very hospitable. The only problem is that we booked this hotel because it said it has a pool. It does, but it isn't accessible because when the property was purchased it had to then become handicapped accessible, which it isn't. They said we could use their sister property down the road. You should remove that from your advertising. It still says pool on their entry sign. I don't know if they're planning to make the pool handicapped accessible. Breakfast is continental, but not that exciting. We chose to eat in town.

Thank you for being our guest. We are glad that you found the rooms nicely decorated, and the beds comfortable. We are currently working on the pool and anticipate that opening again soon, and it will be ADA accessible. Also coming soon is a complete renovation of our breakfast room into a full service restaurant. When that is complete we will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. We sincerely hope if you are ever in the Cambria area again you will come stay with us and enjoy these new renovations also.

Close to beach

The staff are very friendly especially Dane in the breakfast area. The drawback to this property is there are no closets or chairs in the rooms.

Thank you for being our guest. We appreciate your mention of how friendly Dane is, he really is a wonderful asset to our Oceanpoint Ranch team. We are sorry that the closet and chair situation did not meet your expectations. Our design team is still working on certain aspects of our renovation, and these may be addressed in the near future.
