Nice and quiet

Posted Apr 15, 2018
We stopped here on our way further north. We enjoyed the oven view and fireplace. Very quiet hotel. Nice continental breakfast in the lobby of hotel. Theres a Mexican restaurant next door as well. Indoor pool looks nice. The rooms that fact the ocean have a slightly obstructed view, but I assure you that yes you can hear the waves. we would stay here again. Kid friendly as I heard they have lots of fun board games at the front desk.

Okay

Posted Apr 5, 2018
When checking in they informed us there are two buildings and we were in the second one which doesn’t have AC! And we had to walk to main building for breakfast. They did not let us know to save key card or we’d be charged 10.00 each!

Family friendly hotel

Posted Apr 4, 2018
Hotel was nice. Polite staff. Can see pool first thing when walking indoors. Comfortable beds. Clean room. Love the little snack boxes in room. Close to Cambria, ocean and restaurants. Only thing I was displeased with was breakfast. Very unappealing. Had boiled eggs out that were already cold. Only had bread items, cereal, and fruits - things we could easily eat at home.

Thank you for staying with us! We offer a continental breakfast, so these items are typical in that style of breakfast. But, we are sorry you were not satisfied. Thank you for letting us know your thoughts, positive and negative. We truly appreciate you.

A solid budget hoel

Posted Apr 2, 2018
Pros: Price
Cons: A little weathered and dated
A solid budget hotel that is close to Hearst Castle, Cambria, San Simeon, and the Elephant Seal lookout point

This hotel is quaint and quiet. Very clean, nice sized rooms. Comfy chairs move close to fireplace. TV was challenging to work, and most channels were unavailable. Short drive to moonstone beach. Partial ocean view is nice but not close to beach as we expected.

Thank you very much for taking the time to let us know what you think! We will check the channels on the TV and hopefully get that issue fixed. Although it was not the view you expected, we are glad you enjoyed your stay.

Hotel in need of serious updating

Posted Jan 4, 2018
One of only a few hotels on the beachside in San Simeon, this place is in need of serious updating. No A/C (ceiling and small box fan helped move air around the room), ancient metal wall heater, water damage on the bottom of bathroom door, oddly narrow bathroom vanity with mismatched faucet. The room furnishings are tired and uninviting. The overall vibe of the hotel was a bit weird-closed off, tight quarters. The check-in desk is an actual office desk. For the price hot items (eggs) could be added to expand small breakfast offerings. The property is named after architect Julia Morgan, who built Hearst Castle, but she’d likely not want to associate her name with this hotel.

Quiet stay near Hearst Castle

Posted Jan 3, 2018
Pros: Comfort of room.
Cons: Too bad the view of the ocean is obstructed. You need to walk a few blocks to see the beach.
Location: Mexican restaurant next door. 10 minute drive to Hearst Castle.
Stayed overnight as we came to visit Hearst Castle, which is about 10 minutes away. Nice comfortable rooms, spacious, king sized bed with small fireplace. Very quiet hotel. Breakfast included. No complaints.

The only plus for this hotel is that it is 10 min away from Hearst castle.
