We came for the indoor pool for my daughter’s 10th birthday and it has been a great experience. The front desk ladies were super sweet and knowledgeable.

It's a gorgeous location and not a bad view in the whole place. Easy walking distance to all of the nifty little shops and restaurants that make Sandpoint such a tourist destination.

Property is very old and room smelled like cat urine. Bathroom very small and very old, not updated. One staff member was helpful, others simply cold and didn't care. Breakfast was worthless. No dining at property otherwise, which is not noted on website. Rumors around town that property is being developed, which may explain the current condition of the property.

Room was not very clean. A teeth floss cleaner, and a piece of trash were on the carpet near the A/C unit. Otherwise room was clean. Upstairs people were very loud. Lots of stomping and running heard. Staff very friendly and nice. Made reservations for a future visit. Very disappointed the restaurant was closed. Hot tub and pool very nice.

We enjoyed our stay overall and the lakeview is lovely even in the off season with the snowy mountains. Unfortunately one of the 2 queen beds was quite broken down in rm 218. We enjoyed the pool, but it needs an update along with the hot tub. There were clumps of long hair floating in the pool so I don't know if that was from the day or two before, but it was gross. The sauna was out of service as well. Love the location and that its dog friendly. I'd say we will be back, but I hope the pool has been cleaned.

The location was ok, no real advantage in the winter. When I made the reservation I asked about the hot tub and was told it was in service year round. When we checked in on 1/28 we were early. There was a problem with hot water for some of the rooms and they relocated us. I asked at that time (2pm?) about the hot tub. I was told it was refilling. We went into town to watch our Lions play the 49ers. We returned around 7, the hot tub was filled but tepid, cool.. I inquired again and was told it takes a long time to heat. NOT 5 hours! I checked it the next morning, still cool. Told the front desk. Same answer. Came back that evening after skiing and went to the hot tub,STILL COOL (same temp as the pool). I reported to the desk again, and again told the SAME THING??? Next morning at check out I went down to see if it had changed and ran into one of the maintenance guys by the pool/hot tub pump and heater room. He said they had fixed the issue with the boiler for the rooms in the one wing. I told him about the hot tub, he was not aware there was even an issue. We were very dissapointed. I get that your place is primarily a summer spot, but if you are selling rooms to skiers and they want a hot tub . . . ??? A secondary issue was the strong musty smell on the 2nd floor in the hall and rooms. I stay at Best Westerns, and related, regularly. This was sub par for my experiences. Stuff breaks, but to tell me it is ok and not even call Ron or Bill for repair???

We do apologize that your stay was not up to expectations. Since we had a busy weekend where lots of kids were involved we informed everyone that Monday would be a Maintenance day for the hot tub and it would take almost a full day to warm up due to its size and age. We have nobody working for us under those names and the Maint. team was contacted about the hot water issue that same night and we had to call in the Hvac guys the next morning to look at the issue. After Monday everything was up and running as it should be. We apologize and will take all of this into consideration, we thank you for your feedback.

Older building & out dated. Trains continuously pass beside the hotel. The room we got was on the end of the building. 1st evening was extremely noisy. Tolerated the inconsiderate guests above. Had only 4-5 hrs sleep each night of our stay. Later found out that there were unsupervised children above us the 2nd evening. Called the Front desk & complained several times, but the noise continued into the night. There was nothing done about it. The night desk staff were unapologetic & seemed to favour the offending guests. At 1 point , the employee said the noisy guests have just as much rights. We found their attitude to be completely unacceptable. Incompetent staff & Poor value for the amount of money spent. Had a better stay at motel 6! We are never staying at this hotel again. Get more rest sleeping in our car. Local area is good. Too bad there aren’t more hotels around.

The Assistant manger was on duty the second night and when the complaints were brought to her attention she spoke directly with the parents who were in the room with the children. She asked them to quiet down on multiple occasions but the rooms down at the end are specifically for families. Had the issue been brought up the morning after the first night we would've had other room options available to you in a different location. We apologize for any inconveniences you experienced during your stay.

Mixed experience
We had a very mixed experience. The property and where it’s located is awesome! Our view of the lake was better than pictured! However, one of the beds in our room had very wet sheets under the comforter, so wet, the mattress was wet - really weird! Because we booked with a third party (hotels.com) they would not discount our room, and were slow to fix it, that was super disappointing!

Great location, friendly staff, comfy beds, chill vibe. Very family friendly. The pool is a typical hotel pool, in a great room with lots of plants and windows. Property, room layout and furnishings are dated..not a big deal for me. I would have loved to see more environmentally conscious choices such as: big refillable shampoo and conditioner, reusable cups, less plastic waste in Continental breakfast items, and posted details on what is recyclable.

This is a dated property in need of more help and more attention from Best Western Corp. There is no elevator. Because the stairways are carpeted, it is hard to see the last stair and thus is definitely hazardous for anyone with vision issues. Also, I know that hiring enough staff is a current challenge for many businesses but the Edgewater needs more cleaning staff and more understanding front desk staff. The door lock to our room or the key card machine is faulty. We were roomed at the complete opposite end of the hotel and had to make two long treks to the front desk for replacement keys. The woman on evening duty visibly cared less about our key debacle and the length of our many trips to/from the room to the lobby. No apology was offered. Our bathroom was missing a bath mat. Upon moving the sofa cushions to pull out the sofa bed, food crumbs were seen on the top of the folded bed so my friend replaced the cushions and slept on the couch. The 3rd floor hallway, at the end of the hall where our room (room # 376) was located, was an inferno in the late afternoon and evening. We very much enjoyed Tony the day bartender. He is a force of nature and extremely capable. This hotel is well situated on the city beach and is super close to downtown. I recommend the bald eagle lake cruise.
