It's close to Cedar Point and restaurants

Posted Oct 17, 2017
The staff is very nice! However the ice machines were not working which was very inconvenient. The shower water kept going from warm to cold. Also the side door just stays open no key card needed & anyone could just walk in. The place just needs a good cleaning & a little face lift! The Mexican restaurant on site was good.

Good for an overnight stay

Posted Oct 16, 2017
Pros: We like the price/rooms/free wi fi/ coffee/treats in the morning.
Cons: The bedspreads could be updated because ours had some stains on them so we didn't use it.
Location: Lake Erie, Sandusky and Cedar point is very close.
Good inexpensive place to rest your body after a very long day at Cedar Point or anywhere. Complimentary coffee / donuts / muffins in the morning and the staff are always nice.

Weekend stay at Best Value Inn Sandusky-Park Plaza

Posted Oct 10, 2017
Pros: Low rates and location to shopping, eateries, and attractions.
Cons: REALLY would be nice to have microwave & fridge in the rooms - however, there was a microwave in the continental breakfast corner off from the lobby.
Location: 3 Large areas of shopping with eateries (Park Plaza, Sandusky Crossings, and Sandusky Mall are all within 1 mi. of the hotel.
Really enjoyed the closeness to shopping and many eat places when staying at Best Value Inn Sandusky-Park Plaza. (There was a Sonic Drive-In next to it and a Mexican themed restaurant/lounge in-house) Great choice for saving some $$ for other places to go in the area!

Terrible, would never go to again.

Posted Oct 8, 2017
Bugs all over our room, dirty walls, dirty bathroom, bed bugs all on our beds. We switched rooms and same thing. A little cleaner though but profanity was written on the walls bugs still everywhere, our window was broken. Couldn’t stay, had to drive all the way home. It was disgusting.

Old and dilapidated

Posted Sep 6, 2017
Pros: The Mexican restaurant.
Cons: Everything!
Location: Good location for visiting Cedar Point (Our primary reason for staying at this hotel.
Our room, although clean enough, was just barely acceptable. The beds were hard and unforgiving. The pillows were too soft, even when using three at a time. The TV stopped working, and when the front desk sent someone to look at it, he had no tools and had to borrow a pen from us to "reset" the receiver box. That box was mounted close to the floor, but to control the TV, the remote had to be pointed right at it, so no changing TV channels in bed. The toilet lid was not positioned on the tank because the vanity was too close to the tank. Our room also had no telephone, which meant that every time we had a problem, someone had to walk to the front desk. The ice machine was unplugged sometime Sunday morning so that when we returned to our room Sunday night, there was no ice in the machine. When I informed the staff that this was the problem, they just plugged it back in, even though there were a broken styrofoam cup and other debris in the ice box. Very unsanitary. Not a good experience at all.

You get what you pay for

Posted Sep 3, 2017
it was only $50 which is why we booked it and that was about the only saving grace. Staff was nice enough, slightly hard to understand though. Wasn't much to the breakfast that was included. Hot water waxed and waned from hot to cold. TVs were difficult to use for wasn't overly clean. No phone in one of the bedrooms to call down to the desk to get help for the TV.

Green Pool and Dirty Room

Posted Sep 1, 2017
Pros: Staff was very friendly and nice....
Cons: A fresh coat of paint and a good general cleaning would help a lot...
Location: Close to shopping and Walmart.... not far from Cedar Point....
The staff was very nice and did try to do what they could to accommodate us... but the whole place is very out dated and just has a dirtiness to it... A good coat of paint, new carpet and just a good overall cleaning is all it would take to get this place looking great.... Pool was green and the grass around it was due to be cut.. I asked for additional pillows and one of the cases had a blood stain on it... I wasn't expecting a four star hotel, but if it was just cleaned and some attention to detail was applied it would have been much nicer... Probably would stay somewhere else next time...

Cheap hotel

Posted Aug 25, 2017
We picked it because it was cheap, so I didn't expect it to be prefect but it needs some repairs and better cleaning. Hotel staff were friendly. Beds were comfortable and clean. Turn off was carpet was filthy and water temp kept going hot/cold. Overall though we were only sleeping there so it was fine.
