    End of Season

Glad we chose to stay end of season it saved a tremdous amount of money for the gated community. The weather would not have been good to swim in the pool and enjoy what you are paying for, these fees do tend to be steep, so renters be informed. We did find a cutting board and large skillets on our stay. I can confirm from other reviews, the furniture is dated and worn. Hoping John replaces the floor in the bathroom off first floor master bedroom in the off season. Great space over all.

Our cottage at Marblehead Lakeside was very cosy

Cosy and nice. One suggestion: furniture to be renewed . It caused me back pain. Otherwise all was fine

    Enjoyed!

The house was roomy enough with a large kitchen. We loved the front porch and the dead end street. We rented a golf cart to get to main area, but we could walk to the pool and tennis courts. My sons rode the bikes available at the house. It was nice to have linens provided and the use of a washer/dryer. The window air conditioners worked perfectly and kept the home cool. Lakeside is nice since there is something for everyone, I just felt some of the fees (having to pay to park in the driveway of the house you rented) were unreasonable. Our ages ran from 4 to 55, and all 7 of us had a great trip.

    Enjoyable stay at Lakeside

My family had a great time at Blueberry Hill for our annual trip to Lakeside. House was very clean. Appliances seemed new, including the washer/dryer, which are nice to have. My parents appreciated the pickleball equipment, and my kids loved the stash of Legos. I enjoyed reading on the swing in the screened in porch. A/C is window units, but kept the house cool even during hot days. Location is convenient to the pool, fitness facility, and tennis and pickleball courts. It is a bit of a walk to other attractions, particularly the lake, kiddie pool, and splash pad. We decided to rent a golf cart, which ended up being a highlight of the trip for the kids (and me too, if I’m being honest). The master bedroom is located on the first floor with an attached bathroom. There is also another small “bedroom” off the kitchen with a sleeper sofa (sliding barn door that doesn’t completely close). There are also two bedrooms on the second floor. At the top of the stairs is the first bedroom with a queen sized bed. There is no door at the top of the stairs, so has more of a loft feel. You have to walk through the first bedroom to reach the second bedroom (two twin beds, and another roll out bed). Wifi is slow, but we didn’t care as we had great weather and were mainly outside enjoying it or spending time as a family. As other guests have noted, the house is lightly stocked, which presented challenges – none of which were insurmountable. Linens and towels are worn and could use replacement. The master bath smelled musty and floor felt soft in some places. Kitchen table only sits 4 people, but we made do and pushed together a couple other tables we found throughout the house. We parked in the designated spots at the house. On the second day of our stay, my husband noticed a few new scratch marks on our vehicle. My parents also parked at the house and noticed some new and extensive scratch marks on their vehicle a few days later. There are bicycles on the property near the driveway and we saw children using them periodically. While Lakeside’s greatest charm is the freedom and joy children can experience, we believe that children walking bicycles between the tightly-spaced parked cars caused the scratches. Future guests may want to ask that the bikes be removed from the property or park at one of the lots (which cost less anyway). Overall, we had an enjoyable stay, as we always do at Lakeside. Cannot wait to return to this special community next year!
