Pros: Pool and hot tub
Location: Quiet and uncontested for cape but close enough to stuff
Had trouble wint reservation checkling in but everything else went well. Happy with room.

Wonderful hotel at reasonable price. Queen room had lots of space. Easy chair. Good breakfast. Nice hot tub. Friendly staff. Highly recommend

They charge more for 3 guest than 2 guests, but with exactly same room condition (2 double beds). They have refused to provide extra bed or some alternative. In the end, we have booked one more room at higher rate.

Dear Anonymous, It is clearly stated that you are booking for 3 adults in a room with 2 double beds. At the time of your stay, I believe that all of our cots were previously committed by guests who informed us ahead of time that they would be needing one. I'm sorry that you were disappointed.

Good for traveling with pets

Pros: Price, comfort, and accessibility with a dog.
Cons: The coffee.
Location: Very convenient to beaches and the Town of Sandwich, which has great restaurants and some fun shops. Glass museum worth the stop.
The lodge was comfortable and it was very convenient for having a dog in the room. The breakfast was weak, especially the coffee, but I prefer going out for breakfast anyway.

Taking second best or less in high season

Pros: Location.
Cons: Almost everything, including the quality of the breakfast furnished as part of the package. The management is obviously trying to skimp on staff.
Location: For history and geneaology buffs it is a delight. Local restaurants serve quality seafood.
Pricing of all available accommodations seemed to reflect high demand, and complacency by operators who have little real competition, due to location at a beach resort at the end of summer. The hotel we chose, while ideally located for our family reunion attendance at the NYE FAMILY event held every two years in Sandwich, was obviously neglected from the standpoint of furniture and a few housekeeping details that were literally JUNK, unfit for exposure to even middle-class retirees. The hotel was full on our arrival. We were put in a room that was musty, and was exposed to humid air from the indoor pool area, a feature of the property that is approaching obsolescence. The owners care to spend little on up-dates to bring the layout "up to par" with franchised types of hotel operated by professional hoteliers. The physical layout shows it has been expended, willy-nilly for years to take in demand from visitors. It is not a fit atmosphere to spend even medium-priced time as a base for outings to local events for 3 days. As a twice or three times a year domestic traveller, I admit I feel sorry for the owners, operators and staff. We were delighted to see and encounter the East Indian housekeeping personnel, obviously a family of emigrants.

I don't recall you coming to the desk to let us know of the issues you seem to have encountered or we would have done our best to rectify them. Our rooms are undergoing renovations and some of the furniture was unfortunately placed on back order. Without specifics I am speculating on what you are referring to. In what way were housekeeping details "junk"? We use your feedback to improve so I would appreciate specifics if you could provide them. Thank you for your feedback. Sue

Ok for short stay; 2nd floor walk up / no elevator

Clean room, comfortable bed; however, difficult to adjust room temp, and inadequate space in bathroom: must step to side when opening/closing bathroom door due to narrow clearance between door and toilet.

Close to the canal for bike riding.

Pros: Location
Cons: Bathroom shower head very poor.
Location: Bike riding and place to eat.
Liked the room first floor, close to the car. Nice pool and hot tub. The morning breakfast was a good choice.

Nice Hotel with good facilities in good location

A bit uncertain about staying here after reading reviews, however glad we did, and was a pleasant experience. Facilities are good with Indoor and Outdoor pools and hot tub. While it is an older place, and not at all fancy, it is clean and overall good value.
