Great staff but stay was spoiled for one reason

At checkin I was informed breakfast starts at 6:30, perfect timing.Paid extra for two ppl to stay with me so we could have breakfast before heading to Mt hood. At doors at 6:32 and staff setting up said not till 7:00. Could not wait was already packed to go, had to grab food on way. Really sucked paying extra $$ plus I had to buy breakfast.

We recently began holding breakfast hours a little later on the weekends. We do, however, have what is called a "Grab And Go," which includes several items from our breakfast available to any guests that have to leave before our breakfast room opens. A wonderful hotel and staff in a great town!

My stay at the Sandy Inn started out with a warm greeting and a clean and comfortable room. Frankly, much better than expected. The entire staff was friendly and professional. I will definitely stay at the Sandy Inn next time I am in the area.

Good Solid Family Hotel 30 minutes to Mt. Hood

Pros: hot tub, breakfast, beds, cheaper option to mountain hotels or cabins that are twice the price
Cons: blinds for the windows surrounding the pool and hot tub, larger coffee maker, larger microwave, maybe a fence to block noise from the plaza
Location: Mt. Hood is the main reason people stay, there is a free shuttle that stops right next door every hour to go up to the mountain from 7am-10pm.
I was traveling to the area to play at Mt. Hood with my family and thought this Best Western was a great deal. I wasn't really impressed with the location, it's in the middle of a busy plaza behind the McDonald's and next to the Safeway (convenient for a family but also noisy and not a natural setting). We were an hour early to check in and planned to go eat anyway but the first staff person we met was rude about our room not being ready and after driving for hours it put a damper on our arrival. When we came back to check in the second staff person we met was wonderful and very helpful. The pool was okay but the hot tub was amazing (both are 24hours!) pretty well kept, the only problem is they are right in front of the check in area and there are lots of windows that face the parking lot and the reception desk, we still had a good time swimming and relaxing in the hot tub however after getting back from the mountain. The beds were clean and super comfortable (huge plus), there was a fridge and small microwave (hard to get a bag of popcorn to pop in there correctly but it was still worth it). Sink and shower were separate but worked and there was lots of hot water for the shower. The cleaning staff was very nice, friendly and helpful, giving us extra towels and cups for the coffee maker. The breakfast was GREAT, two different kinds of waffle makers, eggs, sausage, potatoes, three juices, coffee, etc. We left rested and had a good time!

Solid experience

Cons: Buffet breakfast. An elevator
Location: The area is dominated by Mt Hood.

Quiet and clean hotel.

Everything was great. This was our second stay and we were satisfied both times. Quiet, clean room, nice beds, tv with kids shows (to keep little ones busy while we were in the room). Location is near food and shopping. Refrigerator and microwave worked well. Wifi was fine.

OK but not as expected.

Pros: Only one near enough to family
Cons: Elevator,
Location: Tons of stuff to do every season of the year. Beach 2 1/2 hr Mountain, climbing, skiing etc 40 min Portland, shopping, zoo, culture 40 min.
Reception desk was manned but I only visually saw a person there once. Fortunately I didn't need anything. I was under the impression that this was a 2 bedroom unit and as we were 3 adults it was needed (come to find out there are no 2 br units) so one person had to sleep elsewhere. Bathroom was adequate but not convenient. Sink didn't drain well. There was good shower water pressure. I didn't realize there was no elevator and having just gone through back surgery 1 1/2 months ago this was difficult to navigate. Room was clean, didn't have any odors and was just ok.
