Good location Great place to stay the night.

The spacious room was pleasantly unexpected and the staff was very nice. The property is old so you'll see uneven floors and dated fixtures. The location is conveniently near the KP boat dock and a short (but steep) walk from Rheinfels Castle. Free street parking until 9am.

Fabulous views

Posted Sep 19, 2015
Pros: Great hotel friendly staff
Cons: There is no tea and coffee making facilities in room. We had taken tea bags so a request for a kettle and cups at reception was happily sorted.
Worth paying for Rhein view room. Continental breakfast is included. The best reliable and quick wifi we have ever had in a hotel and free too. the location is excellent right on the Rhein across road from the KD boats for a day trip or minutes fron the station giving you great access to the whole of the Middle Rhein area.

Located on Rhine

Posted Sep 13, 2015
Pros: Had a balcony overlooking Rhine & close to shops & ferry
Cons: Decor of room
Location: Everything was walking distance
Parking car was driving up a very narrow street & a block or so walk to motel & no elevator/lift. Hotel staff not available 24 hours. Break was good.

Pros: Had a river view room and this was very special. The other thing was that in serious heat, although the room had no air conditioning it was cool.
Cons: Bathroom a bit '70s but all very clean. Coffee, sadly, could be improved.
Location: Plenty to do in connection with the ferries and riverboats. Very easy reach of everywhere in the town. Nice bakery and ice cream shops!
Lovely - very much up my street although it seemed to divide opinion. Amazing position, really nice public areas and room had nice proportions and posh furniture. Very nice and helpful staff. Good value, which made it better.

Really enjoyed the stay

Posted Oct 11, 2013
Pros: The views were awesome, the staff very accomodating, the rooms were comfortable
Cons: Renovations should take care of small bathrooms
Location: Get a railpass. They are good for the Rhine ferries and you can hop on and off all day
This is the perfect place to stay if you are planning to visit areas around the Rhine. The ferry picks you up right in front of the hotel. We were originally given a small room with no view in the rear of the hotel and asked to move to the front. They were very accommodating about moving us and we were able to enjoy the river views and the castle across the river. The rooms were clean and comfortable and they will be doing some renovations over the winter to enlarge the bathrooms. There are several good restaurants and kneipen (local bars) nearby. The train station is about a block and a half away. Breakfast is various meats and cheese, breads, cereals, eggs fruit and yogurts and is a good start for the day. I would stay here again.

Convenient hotel

Posted Oct 10, 2013
Pros: Large room, shower worked well, location was good, breakfast was plentiful, wifi included.
Cons: Décor was somewhat outdated.
Location: Castles all around, other towns close by, catch a day cruise on the river.
Location was the best part of this hotel, with boats, trains, and roads easily accessible. Room was comfortable, but not charming or uniquely German in any way. Wifi worked well. Breakfast was filling, but not necessarily memorable. Hosts were nice enough.

Ideal stopover hotel on the banks of the Rhine.

Posted Jul 26, 2013
Pros: View of Rhine & large room with balcony.
Cons: TV not working & not clear if dinner was available
Location: Perfect. Beautiful view over the Rhine. Handy for boats on or across Rhine. Easy to explore Sankt Goar & visit Rheinfels Castle.
Stayed overnight when driving from Italy to Rotterdam. Had family room with a balcony and view of the Rhine. Enormous room perfect for a family of four. TV didn't work but as we were only there one night it didn't affect our stay. Breakfast was adequate for our needs. Car parking was available nearby.

On the Rhein.

Posted Jul 10, 2013
Pros: Right on the river. Quiet and away from the train.
Cons: Key chain for room. Breakfast could have a few more choices.
Location: View of castle Katz. Right across the street is a station to get a the boat up and down the river. Very close to what you may call the city center.
Hotel was right on the river. Room had an " American " style shower. Meaning not having to step up 3 feet into a tub to get in. The size however was limited and maneuverability was minimal. Best part for me was FREE INTERNET a rare thing for Europe. Their idea of a double bed was two single mattresses smashed together so you better be " close " friends. Breakfast was traditional German. Hotel staff knew English but it would be a lot easier if you know some German. But that can be said for most of Sankt Goar. No elevator so be prepared for stairs. The key to the room has a 2 pound key chain. All in all, it was a great place to stay.
