Do Not Stay Here!

Pros: Nothing!
Cons: Everything! Especially staff customer service, room amenities and the food!
This is my third stay and second review for Hotel Luisiana. The experience has been increasingly unpleasant with each stay. I will not stay here again! Let's just say that some rooms are much better than others here and if you get a bad room, you are in for a horrible stay! Our bed this time had a huge dip in the middle and our AC was broken on a hot summer day! Instead of moving us to a different room the best they could do was offer a portable air conditioner that was very noisy. The front desk lady was incredibly rude and unhelpful when we were trying to resolve the A/C issue. She has no idea what the term customer service means! To top it all off, the pasta for dinner had zero flavor and the eggs for breakfast made both me and my girlfriend violently ill for our flight home. I will have to find a new hotel to stay at when flying out of SJO. I won't be giving anymore money to this place!

Pros: The room was large and clean. I also enjoyed the security of having a safe in my room.
Location: Nearby, not so much. The hotel is situated to make day trips in different directions to access various sites.
Keeping in mind that this room was simply a place to lay my head at night, I found it to be more than satisfactory. Touching on some of the key topics: STAFF- when I arrived (alone after 10pm), I found the desk attendant less than welcoming. He was just barely doing his job. Most other desk attendants were at least slightly more friendly. FACILITIES- I didn't have time to use the pool, but it looked nice from my window. Unfortunately, there was construction occurring immediately adjacent to the pool during the week that would certainly have made it less than appealing. CONDITION- The hotel appeared to be in over good condition and satisfactorily maintained. ROOM CLEANLINESS- The room was cleaned every day, soaps and towels were replenished without incident. ROOM COMFORT- My room was more than large enough for me, even with a king and a twin size bed I had plenty of room to skip rope without moving furniture. With the tile covered concrete floor, I felt confident that I wasn't disturbing any neighbors. My room had an air conditioner that was mounted to the wall so I could adequately control the temperature, unfortunately the condensation from the unit caused a dripping sound as it dripped on to the unused twin bed. LOCATION- The location was satisfactory for my purposes, however some might prefer to be closer to some type of entertainment. DISTURBANCES- As I usually left early in the morning and didn't return before 8pm, I seldom even saw the housekeeping staff.

Couldn't ask for more

I stayed for one night after getting into the airport very late. My ride was waiting for me which was very comforting especially traveling alone in the middle of the night. The check in was quick easy and friendly, and yes, you'll need $100 deposit. Breakfast was fresh and delicious!

Extremely poor customer service, rooms somewhat clean, The toilet flush broken, sink water don't go down, AC don't work properly. You are locked in a cage kind of hotel.

Unmotivated employees & deteriorating quality

It is obvious that the attitude of the employees is severely lacking. Unfriendly service at breakfast, room cleaning personnel that does not great guests and indifferent front desk staff. The results are visible: dirty and filthy table sets on breakfast tables, cutlery that was never wiped off after coming out of the dish washer and wine glasses in the room that are foggy to half blind. And looking into the corners of the bathroom one can see that they never have been properly cleaned by hand. But one has to unpack every day a fresh piece of soap because the one from the prior day already mistiriously disappeared again - just annoying when one stays for several nights. And the mattresses in the beds are far too soft - may be because of being worn out.
