A gem of a hotel

Posted Aug 18, 2017
What a fantastic hotel and a great find. In a great and quiet location with easy access to town and the beach and harbour. Great staff, lovely breakfast - we were lucky to get the table outside on one of the mornings - and easy parking. The detail and features of the hotel are amazing. Would recommend highly and will return.

Charming Hotel

Posted Aug 7, 2017
Pros: The quaintness/easy parking/condition and quiet of the rooms
Cons: More A/C in the common areas
Location: The Inn is located just a few blocks from the Santa Barbara pier. Quite a few restaurants/shops within a close proximity!
The Eagle Inn was a pleasant surprise! The Inn was quaint, clean and the rooms were VERY quiet!! Each staff member that we came in contact with was extremely nice and helpful . They also have a lovely breakfast each morning. The Inn is a few blocks from the beach/pier area, but it is a pleasant, tree lined walk through a great area! I would definitely stay here again!

Good Location

Posted Jul 10, 2017
Very clean, comfortable, and staff nice. Would like to have an elevator, but our suitcase was carried up for us. Room right on street, but was mostly quiet at night. Did not use AC. Would like shower gel, but other amenities nice. Very close to beach. We were out very late and not room in lot, but can park on street until 10:00 and after that for 90 minutes. So convenient.

This Inn is in desperate need of a Refresh/update

Posted Jul 8, 2017
The room was very small. There wasn't any room for the 2 chairs that they did have. In their defense, the Inn did try to accommodate my request for a small secondary sleeper bed, but what they brought in was a complete joke! It was a low quality blow-up mattress. Unusable except as a space hog. There was no topper for it at all, no blanket or comforter-just one thin sheet. Also the TV was so small, maybe a 15 inch or 17 inch, difficult to see even from as close as the bed. Next to this TV was a big, glossy brochure for HBO and all the shows it had, but it was not available. On a specially printed, velcro Channel listing, HBO was there--channel 2, but when you navigated to channel 2 all you got was QVC! THREE times I went through all 264 channels and HBO was not there. The sheets felt overused and dingy and the carpet seemed to be from two centuries ago. We did find the AC to be working quite well as small as it was and kept the room cooled nicely without making much noise at all. The last thing about the room, and perhaps the most-cringe-inducing, was the little sample shampoo bottle. A nice touch usually to find a few handy toiletries, but this shampoo bottle was not new, and when my wife reached out for it in the bath she was greeted by a previous guest's public hair encrusted onto the side of the tiny bottle (see picture if you dare!) This small but disgusting image is unfortunately a lasting memory we take with us from the highly recommended Eagle Inn of Santa Barbara.

Comfortable and cozy.

My friends and I returned to Santa Barbara for a reunion of sorts. We had all attended UCSB 20 years earlier and we were celebrating my 40th birthday. We thought the Inn was adorable! Spanish Colonial style. Comfortable beds. Quiet and within 13 min walking distance of The Marina and and Stearns's Wharf. Breakfast was tasty if somewhat smaller in portions that what we Americans are used to. The hotel clerks and other staff were friendly and smiling. Checking in and out was a breeze. We would have loved if our room would have had a microwave, though. Otherwise, very pleasant stay.

Nice clean hotel with everything we needed.

Posted Jul 1, 2017
We were just in town for a quick weekend wedding. Not looking for luxury, just a clean, convenient hotel at an affordable price. The Eagle Inn was all that, and charming to boot. We could leave the car in their parking lot and walk into the main part of town as well as to the beach & wharf. Our room was well appointed and very clean. Hotel personnel were very nice. We would definitely recommend it to friends.

Nice hotel close to harbour and beach

Posted May 8, 2017 on Ebookers
Pros: Complementary breakfast and location
Cons: Room was a little noisy but this was probably due to the loud neighbours.
Location: Great location near beach and harbour which has good places to eat. Old town takes about 15 minutes to walk to and has lots of places to at and shop
A clean comfortable room with an added bonus of breakfast. Two options of breakfast is offered, one cooked and one more continental based, both very appetising. Rooms were a little noisy but this is due to it being an old building which has lots of character. Nice added touch of swans and rose petals for our anniversary.
