Nice place near the yacht club area. Friendly staff. Tight parking. Up to par with other nice hotels in the area.

Lots of Santa Barbara Character

Posted Mar 24, 2017
Pros: Location, ambiance, quiet location, rooms are nice.
Cons: Breakfast and in=room coffee.
Location: Marina is two blocks away with several eateries, beach is less than a block. Pick up for downtown shuttle is less than a block ($0.50 per ride).
We were very pleased. Our second floor room had lots of light and views of the mountains (room 22). These were clearly apartments back in the 40's so they have enough room and the buildings are built in the "Santa Barbara" style with several buildings around a courtyard, individual entrances, and tiled roofs. We had a refrigerator and microwave in the room, however there is no in-room coffee. Location is just a few yards from the main beach road, but it is quiet being on a side street. I don't think they have a pool so if that's in your wish list be aware. We were able to park our car and use the beach shuttle to get around, several good restaurants in the marina area within walking distance. They call it a B&B but don't expect a lot from the breakfast, that was the only disappointment. They need more choices and move it a bit up-scale. Telling guests they are 'limited' to one yogurt is also not a good idea especially when not a lot of other food is available beyond some corn flakes and a few sweet rolls. On the other hand they have a nice wine and cheese offering in the evening, so that's really nice. However overall it is great and we plan to return. .

The heater in the unit would not shut off so the temp in room was uncomfortable. The rooms facing Bath St have a lot of noice. Homeless/drunks getting into loud discussions late at night outside of room was troublesome.

All three staff members I met were very nice and informative. Our room had a small balcony with a stable and chairs which were perfect for sipping some wine at sunset while enjoying the view of the nearby marina.

Close to Beach

Posted Dec 1, 2016
Being close to the beach and pier was nice. The hotel itself is old and needs some sprucing up. Breakfast was meager. They did have a wine and cheese one afternoon. Towels were paper thin.

Convenient location near beach but tucked away from traffic and noise. Many restaurants within a short walk.
