Pros: It was clean with a nice bed.
This was our first time in Solvang. The shops and architecture was so cute. Its very walkable so I do wish we were more in the center of town. The room was just fine.

Nice hotel in Solvang

Posted Aug 13, 2015
Pros: The location to downtown Solvang and the buffet breakfast
Cons: More sitting areas for breakfast
Location: Close to downtown Solvang with many restaurants, wine tasting and Danish pastry shops within short walking distance.
Hotel was older but clean. It is short walking distance to restaurants and shops in Solvang. Staff was friendly and helpful. They served a buffet breakfast with both hot and cold selections. The seating in the breakfast room is limited and we had to eat in the lobby sitting area but is was ok.

Nice hotel with great location

Posted Aug 13, 2015
Hotel was located at the end of the tourist area of Solvang which made walking around nice. The hotel itself was very nice looking and check in was quick. Our room was nice and clean. Had the usu freebies (shampoo, lotion, conditioner, and shower cap) along with some new ones - makeup remover wipes and shoe wipes. There was also a sign that said if you needed things like toothpaste, razors, etc.,they could be obtained from the front desk at no extra charge. The free breakfast was also good. Eggs (omelet and hard boiled), sausages (patties and links), breads (bagels and toast), pastries, cereal, and coffee. There were more foods than that, but those were the most memorable. Best of all, there was a pancake making machine! Each pancake took one minute to come out so there was a bit of a wait if someone wanted 3 pancakes, but they were hot and tasty.

Solvang

Posted Aug 8, 2015
Pros: security, services
Cons: exercise room
The Holiday Inn is located just on the edge of Solvang which attracts huge numbers of tourists from all over the world. There is lots to see and do in the scenic town. I wish the hotel had an exercise room. Nice pool area. underground parking. Fantastic breakfast and choices are varied each day. Great staff. Laundry service on site. Rooms large with all extras. Good, secure place to spend a few days.

Cons: Update exterior, update rooms
I became ill on our way to solvang so I attempted to check in early. I was understanding that my room would not be available until 3. So I dealt with it for a few hours then went into Buelton to get medications and a few groceries for lunch (to save money, big family on vacation and all) we arrived back at exactly 2:55 and I see the same clerk checking in a tour bus through their guide with none of the attendees there. when I go to check in my room is STILL not ready and the maids STILL hadn't started on it. Because the guarantee check in at 3 I was angry he had to get a maid to rush the job. But it still was going to be 45 minutes more so two maids had to go work on it but it was still not going to be ready till 3:30 or later. Because I booked and paid through Expedia NOTHING could be done to help my situation, no compensation or anything. I will not go back to this hotel again!

Pros: Breakfast was great - bed really comfortable.
Cons: Need an area other than the pool to sit outside.
Good location - excellent breakfast! One of the most comfortable beds ever in a hotel.
