great location -- easy to access beach as well as State Street shopping. It is the place to be if you like late-night clubbing. Standard room somewhat cramped, but nicely appointed.

Great classic hotel with a lot of charm and history. Very clean and all amenities up to date. Right in the middle of all the restaurants on state street. Staff very friendly.

Nice location in the midst of all the State Street action. When you step into the hotel lobby, you are immediately separated from all the noise on the street.

Centrally located on State street, walkable to variety of dining, options, shopping and entertainment. Rooms have a very comfortable bed, good temperature, clean, a hot water kettle for pour over coffee, refrigerator, safe and a selection of snacks and drinks for purchase. Parking as in every downtown situation is difficult on the street, but they have a valet option.

Hotel Santa Barbara is in an excellent location off of state st where all the shopping and restaurants are. The staff, hotel and service were all the best! You couldn't ask for much more!

The front desk staff were incredibly accommodating and thoughtful. The hotel is perfectly situated. The beds were super comfy, lots of fluffy towels and good coffee in am, cookies in afternoon. Would stay there again!

Pro: Great location. Heritage hotel. Beautifully maintained. Staff very helpful. Rooms not large but nicely furnished and decorated. Good size bathroom and shower. Con: no option other than valet parking. After all taxes/hotel fees/parking fees added the standard king bed room cost almost $450 a night.

The bathroom while very modern and pretty wasn’t practical or safe. The bathroom mat got wet every time I took a shower and the floor was slippery. I could barely brush my teeth as the bathroom sink was much taller than the accepted standard.

Great hotel for the price. They said they’re about to remodel, which is good. The bed sounded like it’s wrapped in plastic, awful pillows, single ridiculously small elevator, MAYBE 150 sf room (my wife and I felt like we were in a closet….and the closet was miniature). Positives….very clean, great location, great value, safe. Just make sure you double check the room you’re getting so you’re not stuck with one bed for 3 people. They do have larger rooms. I’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels, this one was definitely worth the $200 when you include the $30 valet. The hotel just needs to improve the bed/pillows, and let people know just how tiny the rooms are. If you’re newlyweds, you’ll love it! All in all, a great price for the location!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Santa Barbara! This is a beautiful property with a terrific staff that is centrally located to almost everything in Santa Barbara. The hotel is an original classic with all of the charm but has been beautifully updated with all new conveniences and decor to maintain the theme and look of a classic. Will definitely be staying here again!

Location of this hotel is fabulous. Walking distance to all the State Street dining and shopping and the beach too! Historic hotel very well maintained. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.
