Great place 2 stay

Posted May 15, 2017
Within walking distance of everything you need. My son appreciated the bike rentals right at the hotel. This will be where we stay when we go back to Santa Barbara.

Room Was not prepared for guests

Posted May 12, 2017
Although the hotel staff was very friendly when we got into the hotel room it was not prepared for guests...we needed to ask for all the toiletries as well as washcloths! Then in the morning the carts that were used to clean the rooms or so incredibly loud that there was no way to sleep through it! Definitely not a hotel to book if you want to sleep in and enjoy your vacation!

Excellent stay. The hotel is clean, comfortable and walking distance to the interesting parts of State Street as well as other sites nearby.

Not worth it; there are better hotels in Santa Barbara for the same money.

at least there's free parking

Posted Apr 17, 2017
Pros: Free parking, updated bathroom
Cons: Paint, upgrade elevators, fix staircases, low-energy, no-noise refrigerators, clean upholstered furniture.
Embarrassingly overpriced for what you get. Noisy appliances in rooms, no insulation from outside noise either. Tight squeeze for 2 people. Nice bathroom, but no privacy from bedroom.

Staff clueless

Posted Apr 14, 2017
Gave me keys to rooms already occupied by other customers 3x. Had to send in a letter to corporate to get a response to my fear of them not taking customer safety a priority

Decent hotel, converted motel-style accomodations

Posted Apr 13, 2017
Pros: The room itself was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was recently upgraded to a spacious, modern style that was nearly on par with much higher-end
Our experience with this hotel was good overall. However, travelers should be aware that the property is converted motel-style accomodations. This means exterior corridors, stairwells, and elevator access, and windows that look out onto the exterior passageways. In other words, if you open your curtains, anyone walking past on the outside corridor is right at your window. The lobby furnishings were updated and pleasant. Breakfast is a style buffet, with eggs, bacon, and a couple of self-serve waffle makers. Overall it was a bit of a disappointment, not nearly enough seating and the utensils were cheap plastic stuff. The breakfast at other budget hotels we stayed at is better (Best Western, for example). The room itself was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was recently upgraded to a spacious, modern style that was nearly on par with much higher-end hotels. Beds were comfortable. Would be a good value somewhere around 150 bucks per night.
