pillows were super uncomfortable/lumpy and late check-out was only 30 minutes later than regular check-out, but everything else was amazing for the price! nice location too.

Pros: I liked the location
Cons: Things could be updated and kept in good repair
The hotel was very close to the beach. The staff was decent but nothing special. The rooms were in poor repair. Holes that are just covered up with plates. Outlets wires not behind the drywall. We rented 3 rooms and outs did not have hot water but the other 2 did. For the price and location it was an ok deal

Ok for the price

Average cheap hotel. Clean. Walls and carpet in disrepair. Shower head was broken and water came out like a hose. Nice part was walking distance to the wharf.

Nice location. Rooms were clean. Breakfast included. There was a bottle opener on the wall.

Great location close to boardwalk.

Pros: Location
Cons: Bed, pillow, linens and heating unit.
Location: Right next to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk and pier.
The room was clean. However, the heating unit was very loud and the bed was not very comfortable

Pros: Location, Parking.
Location: Very Good
We arrive at the Hotel at 12.30 PM, the lady at the reception said it was too early for check in. She said to be back at 01.30 PM. We had asked for a room at upper floor. We came back at 01.25 and the Gentleman at the reception gave us a Handicapped customer room without mentioning it, on ground floor, and when I asked if there was a room on upper floor, he said he gave the 2 last rooms to other clients, who were checking in 2 minutes before me. Very Kind Thank You

Super nasty wife owner yells and screams

Anytime I left my room I spent half an hour making sure it would be easy for the maids to clean up and most of the time they ignored my room and till it was the day before I had planned to leave. The toilets don’t flush right they always give the third-party booking people the worst rooms with the problem toilets and then there’s nothing you can do about it you can’t get a refund through any third-party site they came in our room without asking us. They poured chlorine and foam in the Hot tub when we hadn’t seen anyone in it for over four days not a soul when we told them we were going to use it. it ruined my bathing suit, and gave me a skin rash . They claimed I left my room amass when that’s just not at all what I did . They water down the orange juice and let it sit for for five days in the fridge because once you taste you don’t want to drink it . I don’t care about any of that stuff but they have no way to get your luggage to any of the rooms with help and I don’t care about a lot of this stuff, but the rude wife just took the cake and screaming and yelling over nothing. She was always angry, when you’re bending over backwards to be polite .

Good place, near beach and boardwalk

Pros: spacious
Cons: nothing
Location: just above wharf, so short walk to beach,wharf and boardwalk. On West Cliff drive for walking or biking.
Had no problems with this hotel and their winter pricing is great. Short walk to beach, wharf and boardwalk. Rooms were spacious and clean. Simple cold breakfast was as expected, but appreciated. Winter rates were extremely low.

Beautiful view from the cliff while close to wharf

Not new but vintage vibe. I loved Howard Johnson hotels as a kid and this one brought back memories. The beach view, short walk to the wharf and nice friendly staff were enough but the jets in in the in room bathroom were an unexpected extra. Breakfast room was large and sunny. On top of the city all we heard was the early evening vintage train that took you to the casino. Would love to visit there again for that good old time feeling like in Mad Men.

Pros: It was clean, decor was simple, free wifi, close to the beach
Cons: parking was slightly inconvenient
Location: close enough to walk to santa cruz wharf, boardwalk and restaurants
Gentleman at the desk was polite and gave us information about wifi, parking, room location on the map of the complex. Our stay was very quiet and the room was clean and simple.
