right off the freeway easy to find

Small quiet hotel near beach made for great stay

Front desk was so nice, let us check in a half hour early and approved of our request for a room upstairs. Continental breakfast was delicious and well stocked, even right before 10am! Location is perfect, right off the freeway, quiet, simple, in a "good" part of town. Quick drive to the beach and close to restaurants, stores, museums, and other activites. Room was clean and comfortable, could have easily spent the whole vacation in there! Really made us want to stay longer, pretty sure we will be back in the future! Thank you for making our stay a memorable one!

Clean place, next to freeway entrance.

Pros: Clean rooms.
Cons: Better location.
Location: The place is fine. If you want to get on and off the freeway quick. When in Santa Cruz I Prefer to be by the beach.
The place was fine. Disappointed. I didn't get my points because I booked with Expedia.

Dear Guest: Was a great pleasure to had you at our facility. We are very sorry for not giving you the points as a member of the Best Western, but is a policy that when you book a room with a third party the guest do not get the points. As a members of Best Western is required to book the room online trough the corporate or directly to any Best Western and guest automatically get 500 points. I know Expedia and Hotels. com they offer some incentives for the guest who book frequently with them . You can reach us any time and we be more than happy to assist you at your future reservations. Nice updates hotel

We had an oversized room with two queen beds. Room was recently updated. Very nice and comfortable. Staff was helpful went I had issues getting my bag downstairs. Close to freeway access and not a bad drive to the boardwalk/beach. In walking distance to restaurants.

Location: Right next to freeway
Hard to fit into the bathroom and close the door. Nice to have fridge and microwave. Friendly staff.

Great for the Price

Pros: Clean, updated room
Cons: Pool would be nice but I get it.
I work in Santa Cruz but live in SF so I go down there a lot and stay in hotels. I am always looking for a good deal. I've stayed in just about every motel on Ocean Street and this one was one of the best in terms of an update room and friendly staff. They also have hot items for breakfast which is a nice change from the stale muffins and cereal you get at most places. Seems like they very recently remodeled the rooms. Overall, a pleasant experience and I would recommend to anyone that is looking for a lower priced, nice option. Wish they had a pool.

convenient to freeway

Pros: proximity, cleanliness, friendliness of staff
Cons: clean room without strong smelling bleach, or at least give time to disburse the smell. it would be nice to have a table in the room to eat at.
Location: dennys is across the street, which was convenient for dinner.
we asked for a quiet room, away from the road noise, but our room was still noisy. room smelled strongly of bleach, had to open window and turn on fan to disburse the smell. towels were thin, toilet paper very thin... front desk staff very pleasant and friendly. room was neat, clean, lots of room. although, we did find a couple of long black hairs on the blanket. ac/heater fan was very noisy. breakfast was nice with lots of choices. eating area was clean and well thought out.

more of a cheap motel

arrived late to be checked in through a window as if I am trying to rob a bank! Room was comfortable, but I was the victim of bed bugs. The hotel manager could not deny or confirm the bed bug problem. To her credit, she refunded me the hotel fee without my asking. breakfast was OK

Our hotel is open 24/7 but every day after 11:00 pm we close our front door and we have a small window at the side of the hotel to process the check inn , we do it for safety to our Front Desk, special if is a girl. We are very happy because we do not have any type of bugs now .Bugs is something that all hotels has to face and that include the five stars hotels too, because it goes from one hotel to other hotel, and the different guest who travel for all over country or over the world using different hotels, doesn't know if they got a bugs and if that happened the bugs will travel with guest and arrive to next hotel or to their own homes ). What I explained above is to give you and the rest of public a little idea of the serious problem some hotels have with bugs. The Pest Control Service and use Commercial Products to do laundry, bathrooms, tubs, bedding is because the same reason: To prevent any bacteria or bugs infestation and offer every guest like you a very clean and safe environment at our facility. For all the reasons I explained before, our hotel has a Pest Control Service every month. That mean every begging of each month the pest control guy visit our hotel and give us a service. That is necessary to do in each individual hotel ,because we know in hospitality is necessary to have that service to prevent or stop the bugs problems in case any bug arrive to our hotel. Every guest like you deserve the best of our service and was a great pleasure to had you at our facility. We apologize for any inconvenienced you had experienced.
