We were able to check in early which was nice as our baby is only 3 months old. Staff are very friendly, knowledgeable & accommodating. The view was amazing and the room as well as hotel is very well maintained. The area is walkable, quiet hotel and wonderful restaurant.

The staff are amazing! So friendly and willing to lend a hand if needed. My favorite part was being able to enjoy a cup of coffee in the early morning on my private veranda and watch the beach combers. The only disappointment was that there was a person smoking cigarettes in the room next to me (despite this being a non-smoking hotel). I wanted to leave the door open so I could enjoy the sounds of the ocean but had to keep it closed so I would not be choked out by the stench. No fault of the hotel though. Hotel is a bit dated but is clean and comfortable overall. Does not have a coffee maker or fridge in rooms, which was a bit surprising for the price point. Not a luxury hotel but does have a million dollar view!

The room had areas obviously warn like around the bathroom door no paint on the edges etc ran out of shampoo and conditioner the first day asked multiple times to have it filled no avail luckily we had bought some for my daughter who attends us Santa Cruz loved the staff so,sweet and friendly. We come down pretty much monthly now so look forward to coming again will be down for her 21st bday April 28 see you soon

Their reputation did not match the experience. This is an older hotel for sure without centralized air/heat. Old school window units. GREAT views with a nice balcony but the bathrooms are dated and you can see where it can use a major refresh. Be aware that self-parking is across the street otherwise valet is convenient with only $5 more. The restaurant Jack O'Neill is awesome as we had both dinner and breakfast there and service/food was excellent. Can't say the same for housekeeping at Dreams...Reservation had 3, but yet our bathroom only had 2 bath towels? Had to call front desk to request towel and took more than 30mins for towel to be delivered. When we first went up to our room- there was a glass left directly by the door. Housekeeping also did not remove used portable cups that were next to the Keurig machine. Day of departure - housekeeping knocked on our door despite it NOT being 11am and us NOT checking out from our room and we still had the do not disturb sign hanging from the door outside.

The front desk people were all that friendly. The restaurant is not that good in the security guards harass you for every little thing.

The only hotel right on the beach in Santa Cruz. Nice staff and quite clean. Beds are comfortable and room was very clean.

Great views and location! Staff was helpful and courteous. On-site restaurant is overpriced for average food but quite a few options around. Parking a bit expensive. Overall, if you want great views and beach access and are willing to make other trade offs, you won’t be disappointed.

Love staying at the dream in - the ocean view rooms (location) is one of a kind. It's walkable to so many things and the staff is always friendly and great. Even with some rain, it was a treat and will come back again.

Nice view, but bring ear-plugs
First room we were given had a non-functional heating unit. The hotel swapped out out room while we visited relatives in the area that evening. New room had older wall heater that roared like a jet engine. Otherwise, the bed was comfortable and the room had a nice ocean view.

Will always be my favorite
Check in and valet service was perfect. Pool and hot tub area was closed for resurfacing. This is my go to when I’m in Santa Cruz. Broken shutters that wouldn’t open in our room so we couldn’t see out of some of the windows. Shower grout needs to be re-done….. peeling and stained.

Pool and jacuzzi were not usable which is the number reason we paid double to stay here. They charge 30/day to park in a parking lot and offer no complimentary coffee or breakfast. Definitely not worth the money.

We came for the pool. Their website says it reopened yesterday, it did not. Our whole mini vacation was planned around the pool, this money wasted. The person at reception was also super rude about it.
