They were going through a remodel when we stayed, but the staff were great and friendly. The rooms do not have ac, which is ok for the morning and later at night, but the rooms do get a little warm when the sun came out.

Vacation for graduations

Pros: Location , service staff. The grill

Location: Santa Cruz, the red woods the beach
The facility is clean with the golf course as a back drop. access to thorough fares and near by Santa Cruz was good. The Room left something to be desired however. The facility lacks air conditioning . The rooms do have and overhead fan but lack sufficient cross ventilation capability to assure a rapid cooling of the room after a day. Mind you ambient temps were moderate 70-75 but the room with a box fan and overhead fan going in our absence still climbed and sustained a plus 10 degrees minimum well into the evening after sunset. The room for the money (jacked because of coincident college and high school graduations) was lackluster. A paint job wouldn't hurt. The staff was responsive, and their grill is excellent for a meal. The continental breakfast is one of the poorest I've seen in offerings in my travels, so we ate out each AM. So to be honest it's decent place to get a bite, but pass on the accommodations. We come to Santa Cruz at least twice a year to visit family, this is the first and last time for this inn.

Pros and Cons

Pros: Pros- Location was great. Restaurant and main check-in building very nice, bed was very nice and comfortable, continental breakfast was good.
Cons: Shutters rm. 313 broken & would not stay open. The chairs in front of the window are too tall and have to be moved to fully open the shutters.
Cons--Stuffy room due to no air conditioning, minimal counte rspace and poor ventilation in bathroom, mini refrigerator that was too loud for sleeping, not enought light in the room, and landscaping and deck remodel not complete yet

Convenient location; friendly staff

Pros: Proximity to my relatives in Pasa Tiempo
Cons: Change lighting in dining room and upgrade shower in room 311- and warn people about ice machine!
Location: Very close to downtown Santa Cruz; convenient parking.
It is an older facility but appears to have some renovations. My room was adjacent to the ice machine and vending machine so not as quiet as I would like. I did not ask to be moved because it was a crowded Memorial Day weekend and I spent very little time at the hotel. The dining area seemed dark and dingy. The setting is quite nice.

Clean close to everything

This hotel is very clean and you just jump on highway 17 and you can go anywhere close! Downtown , beach, north or south on highway 1 . So easy!

Nice hotel with a great sports restaurant

Good location (right off the freeway exit). Great staff at the sports bar/restaurant. My only negative experience staying here was I asked the front desk to notify me when our room was ready and they forgot and also no air conditioning in the room but they do have fans. Overall I was satisfied and would recommend this place.

No air conditioning. Poor continental breakfast would not go back
