Really loved our stay

We picked this hotel because it has an indoor pool & spa however, it was close enough to walk to the boardwalk. Especially knowing it was going to rain definitely good for the kids. The room was clean, staff are approachable, very friendly, comfortable beds, and really smoke-free hotel.

Close to the attraction we were there to see.

So overall I knew that it wasn't going to be a great motel, and that was fine. It was a last minute trip and we were trying to find something reasonably priced. When we arrive the evening manager wasn't very personable. Pretty cold actually. We get to our room and it takes forever to get the key to work to open the door. We finally get in and the room is still filled with trash and dirty linens. Smelled terribly like smoke, even though it was supposed to be Non smoking facility. So immediately we go and ask for another room. The manager apologized and gave us another room. This room was about what you'd expect for a motel like this. Looked clean, but didn't feel clean. The noise level from outside was pretty bad, the blinds had holes in them from people looking outside so much, so it felt as if people could see in. Overall it was about what I expected. I just simply wanted to be close to my venue. If you get an already cleaned room I feel the experience wouldn't be that bad.

Staff not friendly. Difficult to get towel when my daughter play in pool. The pool hour is also bad: opens at 10:00am in the morning and you have to check out/leave at 11:0am

Bugs

My daughter and I woke up with several (7 on me, 10 on my daughter) bug bites. Not sure what kind of bugs...but, I did kill 1 spider. We don't believe they were bed bugs. Also, this is definitely a party hotel, as there were noises and people until about 4am. My husband witnessed a drug deal, too.

Will do in a pinch

Pros: Bathroom, location
Cons: Noise monitoring, cleanliness. The front office not orderly, staff should take class in hospitality, Furniture/rooms are dark, upgrade, clean, clean
Location: Santa Cruz, Monterey (40 miles), beach, food, people watch (feels like Berkeley in some places)
For the price I feel I am getting what I paid for. The pictures of the place look better than the actual condition. The bathroom was clean and that was a plus. The room itself seemed to have a permanent odor which after a while didn't seem as bad. The room didn't feel clean and the beds were sagging. The TV service is minimal. The sauna pool I did not try but I concluded if the rooms were not clean, why would the pool be. So I skipped that experience and took a long soak in a minimal sized tub(standard but not really good for adults who want to soak). I found the staff a bit pre occupied. I really didn't get a great greeting nor when I dropped of my key card, I didn't get a thank you. I stayed over on a friday night and by 8AM they had workers being loud and by 9am there were using a chop saw. This particular hotel has one long parking lot and the sound outside travels throughout the front of the hotel. I stayed a second night (mostly because of the price and I was not eager to go elsewhere in the rain) and some party people were next door as well as some people arriving at 130AM with their voices up. They may not have been guests and were just visiting the party. Sound may be an issue if you need it quiet. I survived and the price was the highlight. I wouldn't stay again unless it was all that was available.

Beds were old and dingy. Staff spoke poor English. Bread had mold on it. Outside was forty NB with butts all over I injured myself on an overgrown bush with thorns. I was bleeding and they wouldn't cut back the bush. A child could have been hurt Google location.

Nice hotel for a group of 7

Pros: Spacious parking! And the ability to check in early, or check out late, for a $40 fee.
Cons: Didn't give us the premium suite we reserved from Expedia.
Location: 7 minute walk to the boardwalk!
Reserved a premium suite: 2 bedrooms with 1 king and 1 quien bed at each room. However, the hotel provided us 2 bedrooms instead of the suite (not sure why). Good service and definitely a must stay place if you are looking for something good and affordable.

Homeless people in and around hotel.

Pros: Nothing. Very trashy. The area was super dirty and questionable
Cons: Everything very dangerous. Homeless people and gang bangers in front
